Wrestling Night in America Preview

Missouri Valley Wrestling
MVW’s Wrestling Night in America PPV Preview
Sunday June 28th, 2020
Hale Arena
Kansas City, MO

Tonight, Missouri Valley Wrestling fires off their second pay per view show of the year- Wrestling Night in America at a sold out Hale Arena in Kansas City, Missouri.

The show will feature a double main event.  In the first main event, Women’s Champion Lisa Barbosa-Stevens puts her title on the line against the ‘Canadian Cyborg’ Sheline Carrigan.   Then in the second main event, former MVW Men’s Champion Charlie Blackwell finally gets a chance to regain the belt he lost back in December when he challenges current champion ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson.

Here’s a look at the complete card for tonight’s show.

J.J. Bittinger and Jack Fraiser vs.  Rah and Corey Beckett
After several months of clawing his way back from the depths to become a bonafide contender again for the MVW Men’s title, J.J. Bittinger comes off a nice two month run with the Men’s Heartland Title and looks to build on his momentum as he teams with rival Jack Fraiser to take on MVW’s favorite wrestler Rah and the first graduate of Joe Bergman’s Barn to sign a MVW contract- Corey Beckett.

Both Bittinger and Fraiser are jockeying for position in the title picture.  Rah continues to be a contender in the Heartland division.  But it’s Beckett who gets his first taste of big time MVW action when he sets foot in the ring Sunday night in Kansas City.  Corey lost a Bergman’s Barn Title match a couple weeks back to Magnum P.O’d but was surprised when Ray McAvay walked in and presented him with a contract.

Now, Beckett finds himself in the ring with two very tough customers in J.J. Bittinger and Jack Fraiser as he teams with the always popular ring veteran Rah.

SIX MAN TAG TEAM:
Truckin’ Average Company (Average Joe/Brad Company/Ken Worth) vs. The Southern Boys (‘Dastardly’ Dave Miller/‘Dangerous’ Dan Williams) and Buckshot Henderson
This should be a fun little tag match between two top tag teams with the addition of Buckshot Henderson who also recently signed on with MVW.

The current state of affairs with the Southern Boys finds them still very much pissed off at the Sports Entertainment Corporation (The SEC) for interfering in their title match two weeks ago.  You can bet that tonight at Wrestling Night in America, the Southern Boys will look to make a statement against the TAC.  Henderson tags with Miller and Williams because Southern Boys’ ‘Cowboy’ Dan Butler and ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson will be wrestling title matches later on in the show.

With Average Joe joining them in the six man tag coming off a MVW Men’s title match two weeks ago, Company and Worth look to get back themselves back into the tag team title picture after dropping down in the rankings in the past few weeks.

WINNER FACES WOMEN’S TAG TEAM CHAMPION AT MVW HOUSE SHOW 7/11 IN VALPARAISO, IN:
Stage One- #3 Geena the Warrior Princess and Eliza Rose vs. #4 People’s Front of Berea (KY): Kellyanne Morris and Bailey Foster
Stage Two- Winner faces #2 The Hanson Sisters
Tonight, the Missouri Valley Fight Club gets yet another shot at regaining the tag belts.  Should they fail to win back the belts, one of these three teams will be the O’Neders’ next opponent.

Geena the Warrior Princess and Eliza Rose have formed a good little tag team here in the past few weeks.  Rose is more in her element in the tag team division and she and Geena have jumped into the top four rankings.  They will start off with the People’s Front of Berea’s Kellyanne Morris and Bailey Foster- two very good tag team wrestlers in their own right who are also riding the recent success of the men’s incarnation of PFB (Men’s Tag Team Champions).

The winner gets the unenviable task of facing MVW’s Masters of Mayhem- The Hanson Sisters for a shot at the tag team title belts.  Andrea and Melissa Hanson seem to have finally settled as the tag team component of the Hanson Sisters with Charissa doing battle in the single’s division.  This is their big chance to score an important win and put themselves in position to become the next Women’s Tag Team champions.

WINNER FACES WOMEN’S CHAMPION AT MVW HOUSE SHOW 7/11 IN VALPARAISO, IN:
Stage One- #3 ‘The Shadow Warrior’ Shizuko Yamazaki vs. #4 ‘Queen of the Trailer Park’ Lani Harlot
Stage Two- Winner faces #2 Christa Carmondy
Yamazaki has steadied herself under the tutelage of Dawn McGill and continues to grow as a professional wrestler improving every time she goes to the ring.  The Shadow Warrior will start out with the always tough, always ready for a fight ‘Queen of the Trailer Park’ Lani Harlot tonight.  Harlot has solidified herself as one of the best wrestlers in MVW and she would love nothing more but to get another shot at the women’s title PLUS get her hands on Christa Carmondy for walking out on her during a tag team match a few weeks back.

The winner will face the top woman in the Sports Entertainment Corporation- Carmondy.  Carmondy ran into a freight train in Sheline Carrigan in Des Moines, Iowa a couple weeks ago coming off an earlier loss to Lisa Barbosa-Stevens (where Harlot interfered in the match to get payback on Christa). Carmondy desperately wants another match with Lisa Barbosa-Stevens and you can bet the SEC will play their part in this match.

WOMEN’S HEARTLAND TITLE MATCH:
‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin © vs. Victoria McGill
Now we get to the first of six title matches on the card tonight starting with another edition of the running battle between Tessa Martin and the daughter of her former best friend (Dawn McGill) Victoria McGill.  Tori turned her back on the SEC to back her mother several weeks ago in a match against Dawn’s now ex-husband (and SEC’s Chief of Security) Jackson C.  Horne.   Her defection opened the door for Tessa Martin to return to the SEC- an addition that ‘Sports Entertainment Genius’ Mr. McMann happily accepted.

Since then, Tess has displayed a more aggressive attitude in her wrestling propelling her to the Women’s Heartland title that she won from Kirsten Canfield a month ago.

Martin and McGill have met before with mixed results.  Now they will meet again at Wrestling Night in America for the Women’s Heartland Title.

MEN’S HEARTLAND TITLE MATCH:
‘Cowboy’ Dan Butler vs. ‘No Frills’ Chris Escondido
With J.J. Bittinger vacating the title to make a run at the men’s belt, the pride of the Southern Boys ‘Cowboy’ Dan Butler and ‘No Frills’ Chris Escondido both won a semi-final match to earn themselves a chance to become the next Men’s Heartland champion.

Butler is a two time Men’s Heartland Champion.  He first won the belt back in September 2017 by defeating ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson before dropping the title to Dickinson three weeks later.  Butler then defeated The New Age Cybertronic Criminally Insane Rogue Sentient Robot Wrestling Machine’ Ultratron-5.1 in October 2019 to win the belt for the second time.

But to win it a third time, Butler will have to get past the revitalized thirty-eight year old ‘No Frills’ Chris Escondido who miraculously jump-started his in-ring wrestling career in 2020 and even flirted with a Men’s title shot.  Escondido’s drifted back since but now he has a golden opportunity at Wrestling Night in America to take home MVW’s house show title.

WOMEN’S TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH:
The O’Neders © vs. The Missouri Valley Fight Club
The first of the big four matches of the night sees the O’Neders taking on the Missouri Valley Fight Club once again for the Women’s Tag Team title.  This will be the fifth consecutive women’s tag team title match featuring the O’Neders versus the MVFC dating back to March.

Rita and Anita O’Neder dispatched the long time women’s tag champions four weeks ago in the rematch after winning the tag belts from the Missouri Valley Fight Club in Chicago on May 3rd.  At Wrestling Night in America, the O’Neders try to leave the MVFC in the rearview mirror and consolidate their hold on the division with another successful title defense.

However, don’t count out Harley Davisson and Carrieanne McDermott.  The MVFC have hit their first wall since the women’s division began and Davisson and McDermott ruled with an iron fist.  Now, both women have to dig deep to rise back up and grab back what was theirs for over a year.   This shapes up to be a pivotal match for both teams.

MEN’S TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH:
The People’s Front of Berea…Kentucky © vs. The Sports Entertainment Corporation
Dayle Joe Foster and Ezekiel Walker aka The People’s Front of Berea . . . Kentucky find themselves staring down the big conglomerate known as the SEC tonight at Wrestling Night in America in a match that pits small town America versus the Sports Entertainment Corporation.

The SEC prepped the battlefield for tonight by blatantly interfering in the PFB’s first title defense against the Southern Boys sparking a disqualification that gave the win to the challengers but kept the belts on Foster and Walker.  Now tonight, they have what they wanted- a clear path to the regaining the tag team title.  The SEC also made clear their intentions when they plowed past the Dark Overlords of Wrestling and The Malachi Brothers to punch their ticket for tonight’s match.

Can Ezekiel Walker and Dayle Joe Foster find some way to pull off a big upset victory over two time former tag team champions Kirk Walstreit and P.M.C. Banks?  Or will the SEC steamroll their way to a third title run?

MAIN EVENT/WOMEN’S TITLE MATCH:
Lisa Barbosa-Stevens © vs. ‘Canadian Cyborg’ Sheline Carrigan
Once again, Lisa Barbosa-Stevens and Sheline Carrigan- two rivals who have great respect for each other- face each other once again for the MVW Women’s Title.

This will be a clash Barbosa-Stevens and Carrigan have fought several times over the past couple of years with the women’s belt up for grabs.  Both women are right now at the top of their game and every indication points towards tonight’s match being another in a series of epic battles between the two.  Both Barbosa-Stevens and Carrigan will do what it takes to leave the ring tomorrow night with the MVW Women’s title belt- the question is who will come out on top?

MAIN EVENT/MEN’S TITLE MATCH:
‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson vs. ‘Charlie Wrestling’ Charlie Blackwell
Two months into his Men’s title run, Bill Dickinson has had title defenses against Average Joe and Jack Fraiser.  Tonight at Wrestling Night in America, the competition level jumps up dramatically when he defends the belt against Charlie Blackwell- a man who held the title for sixteen months before finally being dethroned at Night of Champions in December 2019 by J.J. Bittinger.

After going into a funk following the loss, Blackwell battled his way back up and earned this match by defeating Fraiser and avenging his loss to Bittinger.  Charlie’s managed to get his mojo back with the help of Dawn McGill in his corner but can Blackwell regain the title nearly seven months after losing it to Bittinger?  Tonight at Wrestling Night in America, Blackwell will have to reach down deep and use everything in his arsenal to take the title back.

On the other side, Dickinson is quickly and quietly gaining confidence as he reigns at the top of the MVW mountain and may be just too strong right now for Blackwell to handle.  He’ll be out to make a point to show that he can be the dominant champion that Charlie Blackwell was.  Dickinson will have the Southern Boys in his corner as usual proving support and we will find out tonight at Wrestling Night in America if Dickinson’s title run will continue.

MAIN EVENT/MEN’S TITLE MATCH:
‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson © vs. Average Joe

Men’s champion ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson may get a very tough test when he meets Average Joe.  Average Joe nearly upset Darin Matthews a few weeks back and has been generally wrestling the best he’s wrestled in a long time.  Dickinson is focused on going to Wrestling Night in America as the champion.

WINNER: ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson © @ 15:38 with the Southern Fried Powerbomb
Dickinson was never in much danger but Average Joe did not make it easy for him.  As he did against Matthews, Average Joe shook off the punishment Dickinson dished out and just kept coming until he finally ran out of gas.

ALSO ON THE SHOW:
MVW CEO/Owner Ray McAvay Announcement re: Chief Business Officer Laura Bergman
McAvay announces that Laura is taking time off after Wrestling Night in America to tend to her husband, High Octane Wrestling’s Joe Bergman.  Following Joe’s match at War Games where he lost his share of the HOW Tag Team title, he felt very tired and complained of chest pain backstage.  Upon Bergman’s return to the United States, Joe saw a doctor on Tuesday in Missouri and discovered that he had an issue with a valve in his heart and will require surgery to replace the valve.

The Sports Entertainment Corporation Cuts a Promo After Their Win
‘Sports Entertainment Genius’ Mr. McMann gloats after the SEC ‘overcomes the stacked deck Ray McAvay created’ to win a title shot at Wrestling Night in America next week in Kansas City.  McMann claims that the SEC will wipe the mat up with the People’s Front of Berea and bring the tag titles back where they belong- with the elite of the Sports Entertainment Corporation.

Average Joe Interview
Kellie Burkowski discusses his match with ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson in just a few minutes.  Average Joe tells her win or lose, Bill Dickinson is going to know that he’s been in a fight tonight.  His Truckin’ Average Company teammates (Brad Company and Ken Worth-American Trucker) are also there to give him support.

‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson Interview
Dickinson tells Burkowski before his match with Average Joe that he’s not looking ahead to Wrestling Night in America.  He knows Average Joe will pose problems for him but he is the 330 Pound Southern Brawler and tonight he intends to prove it.

Kirsten Canfield vs. Victoria McGill
Winner goes to Wrestling Night in America as the opponent for current Women’s Heartland Champion ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin.  Tori McGill has her mother Dawn seconding her in Tori’s corner.  Canfield is the Wichita, Kansas product who aimed to earn herself a chance to become a three-time Women’s Heartland Champion.  Who would prevail?

WINNER: Victoria McGill @ 12:54 with the Gutwrench Facebuster
Tori and Canfield put on a show for the MVW Studio audience in a clash of styles matchup.  Canfield’s awkward style posed issues for McGill.  Tori’s strength advantage proved to be too much for Canfield.  Canfield kept McGill at bay until the ten minute mark when she began to fade a bit and Tori upped the pressure.  In the end, Canfield fell to the Gutwrench Facebuster and Tori McGill will face the ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin for the Women’s Heartland title at Wrestling Night in America.

MATCH #4/SEMI-FINAL MATCH/MEN’S HEARTLAND DIVISION:

Escondido had a nice run in the Men’s division early on and nearly earned himself a title shot.  But he’s fallen back and finds himself now in the mix in the Men’s Heartland division.  O’Reilly possessed a lethal left and right hand but hasn’t been able to put it together. Winner will meet ‘Cowboy’ Dan Butler at Wrestling Night in America for the vacant Men’s Heartland title.

WINNER: ‘No Frills’ Chris Escondido @ 7:33 with the Brainbuster
O’Reilly caught Escondido early with a right hand that glanced off his face.  But Escondido used his huge experience advantage to negate O’Reilly’s power from there and finished off the brawler with the Brainbuster to book his ticket to Wrestling Night in America.

MAIN EVENT/ #1 CONTENDER’S MATCH/WOMEN’S TITLE:
Christa Carmondy vs. ‘Canadian Cyborg’ Sheline Carrigan (Taped 6/13 in Des Moines, IA)

WINNER: ‘Canadian Cyborg’ Sheline Carrigan @ 4:10 via DQ
Ooooh.  Christa started fast.  Then Carrigan started hitting big move after big move.  Carrigan set Carmondy up for the Canadian Destroyer when ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin flew in and clocked her with the Oversized Pizza Box of Doom.

Post match, Tess, Carmondy, and Poison Penny attacked and then beat down Carrigan until Dawn McGill, Victoria McGill, and ‘Queen of the Trailer Park’ Lani Harlot came to the ring to make the save.

ALSO ON THE SHOW:

-The men’s contingent of the SEC also continues to fight multiple fronts.  The Southern Boys.  Ultratron-5.1’s Army.  And now the Dark Overlords of Wrestling.
-Men’s champion ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson may get a very tough test when he meets Average Joe in Des Moines on June 13th.  Average Joe nearly upset Darin Matthews a few weeks back and has been generally wrestling the best he’s wrestled in a long time.
-Can the People’s Front of Berea back up the bravado and somehow find a way to retain their MVW Men’s Tag Team Titles in Des Moines?

SEGMENT FOUR-Kellie reviews some of the other results from the past weekend’s house show matches

Saturday Night in Des Moines, IA

People’s Front of Berea (KY): Kellyanne Morris and Bailey Foster defeated Backman Taylor Powerdrive-Charlene Backman and Brianna Taylor
–The PFB women score a shock win over the former #4 ranked Women’s Tag Team when Morris pinned Backman with the Kentucky Headcrusher to jump into the top four contenders.  More importantly, they will now be wrestling at Wrestling Night in America in a three way tag match for a shot at the Women’s Tag Title.

NON-TITLE-Women’s Tag Team Champions The O’Neders: Rita and Anita defeated Geena the Warrior Princess and Eliza Rose
-Geena and Eliza had a good run in this match until the O’Neders turned up the heat and turned the tide in their favor. Anita pinned Rose after the O’Neders hit That Thing They Do on her.

NON-TITLE-Women’s Champion Lisa Barbosa-Stevens defeated ‘Queen of the Trailer Park’ Lani Harlot
-Barbosa-Stevens grinded her way through the match and ended it with the Toxic Sting.

Post match, the SEC (Tess, Carmondy, and Poison Penny) came calling for Harlot but again Dawn and Victoria McGill came to the ring to make the save.

SEGMENT FIVE-The Hanson Sisters Promo
Wearing their thick black horn-rimming glasses, dressed in their retro Charlestown Chief hockey uniforms, and armed with hockey sticks, Andrea, Charissa, and Melissa all state that the time is coming near for the Hansons to rise up and claim the tag team titles.  They are taped up and ready to go.

SEGMENT SIX-Missouri Valley Fight Club Inteview
Kellie talks with Harley Davisson and Carrieanne McDermott backstage.

Davisson and McDermott are calm.  Davisson explains that they’ve hit a rough patch and sometimes that happens in pro wrestling.  Unfortunately for them, The O’Neders are on top of their game at the moment and all the MVFC can do is keep pushing forward and hope that they’ll break through again and regain the belts.

MAIN EVENT/#1 CONTENDER’S MATCH-WOMEN’S TAG TEAM TITLE: The Missouri Valley Fight Club (Harley Davisson/Carrieanne McDermott) vs. The Hanson Sisters (Andrea and Melissa Hanson w/Charissa Hanson)
Can the Hansons finally break through and get to a title match at Wrestling Night in America in two weeks?

Not this time.  Once again, Davisson and McDermott rise to the occasion and make a statement two weeks before Wrestling Night in America.  Breaking out of their doldrums, the MVFC dominated the match from the start and never let the Hansons get comfortable in the ring.  McDermott submitted Melissa with the Indian Death Lock to seal the Hanson’s fate.

WINNER: The Missouri Valley Fight Club @ 6:02

Thunderbolt wraps up the show and previews the matches on Lock and Loaded for next week:

6/15-Wrestling Night in the Heartland

LAST WEEK ON WRESTLING NIGHT IN THE HEARTLAND ON HOTv
– MVW CEO Ray McAvay announced two more matches to take place at the Des Moines, Iowa house show:

‘Terrors of the Demolition Derby’ The Malachi Brothers vs. The Sports Entertainment Corporation vs. The Dark Overlords of Wrestling- winner faces either The People’s Front of Berea or the Southern Boys at Wrestling Night in America

Charlie Blackwell vs. Jack Fraiser vs. ‘No Frills’ Chris Escondido vs. J.J. Bittinger- winner faces either ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson or Average Joe at Wrestling Night in America.

-MATCH #1-‘Canadian Cyborg’ Sheline Carrigan/’Queen of the Trailer Park’ Lani Harlot defeated Christa Carmondy/‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin
-‘Sports Entertainment Genius’ Mr. McMann is incensed by McAvay’s plans and threatens to pull the SEC out of the match.  McAvay then appears and says he can refuse to pay the SEC then if they won’t wrestle.
-MATCH #2-Charlie Blackwell defeated Jack Fraiser
-Kellie Burkowski interviews Average Joe about his upcoming match against Bill Dickinson.  Average Joe says he’ll be ready for anything that happens during the match.
MAIN EVENT: Men’s Champion ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson defeated John O’Reilly
-Dickinson talks with Kellie post match.  He tells her there’s a rule: To be The Guy you have to beat The Guy.  Right now, Bill Dickinson is The Guy.  The SEC then runs out and attacks Dickinson after laying out the other Southern Boys.  That brings out ‘The New Age Cybertronic Criminally Insane Rogue Sentient Robot Wrestling Machine’ Ultratron-5.1 leads his forces out- Hawaii Five-One-Five-O and the Murder Hornets along with ten miniature Ultratron-5.1’s as the show ends.

Cut to Thunderbolt Smith and Rick Hall in the middle of the ring.

The crowd is on their feet and making lots of noise.

Thunderbolt Smith: Hello and welcome to Missouri Valley Wrestling’s Wrestling Night in the Heartland on HOTv!

Thunderbolt Smith: We are in Des Moines, Iowa for the next two weeks as Wrestling Night in America approaches.  Tonight, we have two matches for you and to preview those matches, with me as always, ‘Long Haul’ Rick Hall . . .

Rick gives an Orange Cassidy-style half-assed wave.

Rick Hall: Hey.

Thunderbolt Smith: Rick, in our opener tonight we’ve got four men who will do battle tonight for a shot at the Missouri Valley Wrestling Men’s Champion- whomever it is, ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson or Average Joe- at the Wrestling Night in America pay per view in two weeks.

Rick Hall: That’s right Thunderbolt.  Four men.  One title shot.  We’ve got ‘No Frills’ Chris Escondido.

Chris

Rick Hall: Escondido is in the midst of a career renaissance and has come close to getting himself a title shot.  He’s fallen back in the rankings but with an actual title shot at Wrestling Night in America hanging in the balance, you can bet that Escondido brings his A-game tonight.  Next, Jack Fraiser.

Jack FraiserBlaire Rendell
Jack Fraiser and his Oootlander Blaire Rendell

Rick Hall: After facing ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson for the title last month, Fraiser has slipped down to #3 in the rankings.  Don’t discount him though.  He works hard.  He’s got his Oootlander Blaire Rendell in his corner.  And as he’s shown in the past, Jack’s more than capable of pipping a title shot.  He’ll be up for this one.  Next, Heartland Champion J.J. Bittinger.

J.J. Bittinger
J.J. Bittinger

Rick Hall: Here’s the wild card in this whole deal.  The Heartland Champion J.J. Bittinger.  The former Men’s champion was injured back at the St. Louis Supershow on January 11th when he lost the title to ‘Big Money’ Darin Matthews, it’s taken Bittinger five months to get back into the title race.  Bittinger has dominated the Men’s Heartland division for the past two months.  Now, he’s looking to reclaim the title he lost.

Thunderbolt Smith: One more thing, IF J.J. Bittinger does in fact leave here tonight as the number one contender for the Men’s title, he will drop the Heartland title and next week, Missouri Valley Wrestling will crown a new champion.

Rick Hall: And last, but not least- former Champion Charlie Blackwell.

Charlie BlackwellMcGill headshot
Charlie Blackwell with Dawn McGill

Rick Hall: For sixteen months, Charlie Blackwell ruled the roost as the Men’s champion.  Then Bittinger put an unceremonious end to his run in December 2019 at Evening of Champions and since then, Charlie has meandered along.  Now, back on his game and aiming to return to the pinnacle of the Men’s division, Blackwell is the #2 ranked wrestler in the division and will face the survivor of Bittinger, Fraiser, and Escondido.  Is this the moment Charlie Blackwell makes the breakthrough?  If Bittinger is the one who emerges from the initial three way match, can Blackwell avenge that loss back in December?

Thunderbolt Smith: And then our main event tonight will be the MVW Men’s Tag Team title match between the unlikely champions The People’s Front of Berea… Kentucky defending the title against the Southern Boys.

Rick Hall: The Southern Boys lost the title to the PFB on May 16th

*REPLAY/MEN’S TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Southern Boys vs. People’s Front of Berea*

‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson comes flying down to the ring!

He jumps in.  Clothesline…Walker ducks!  Dickinson takes out ‘Dangerous’ Dan Williams instead.

Dickinson stands there – shocked at what went down.  Referee Brent Payson kicks Dickinson out of the ring.

Walker lifts Williams up – MOUNTAINEER DEATH BOMB!

Cover . . . 1 . . . 2 . . . 3!

Rick Hall: They’ve been waiting for this moment ever since.  Can ‘Dastardly’ Dave Miller and ‘Dangerous’ Dan Williams erase the big mistake made by Bill Dickinson and regain the title?  Or as Zeb Morris has been saying for two weeks now, are the People’s Front of Berea going to shock the world and leave Des Moines with the tag belts.

Thunderbolt Smith: We’re going find out tonight.  But first, it’s time for our first big match of the night.  Let’s go to Kimber Marshall in the ring.

Cut to the ring where Kimber is standing and ready to go.

Kimber Marshall: Ladies and gentlemen.  Our first match of the night is…

ONE FALL!

Kimber Marshall: …for the first stage and…

Kimber points to the fans.

ONE FALL!

Kimber Marshall: for the second stage.

Rick Hall: God I love indy wrestling.

Thunderbolt Smith: Yep.

Kimber Marshall: And the winner will face the Missouri Valley Wrestling Men’s Champion for the title at Wrestling Night in America.  Introducing first…

*”Generic Entrance Music”*

‘No Frills’ Chris Escondido
AGE: 38 / HT: 6′ 0″  WT: 224 / HOME: Cincinnati, OH
FIN: Brainbuster

Escondido walks out onto the stage and walks right down to the ring.

Kimber Marshall: Introducing our second contestant…

The video screen comes to life:

It’s 1946 in the Scottish Highlands.

On the hill of Irish na Dun, British nurse Blaire Rendell hears the tell-tale buzzing sound as she approaches the standing stones. This makes her very happy.]

Blaire Rendell (Scottish accent): Soon, I’ll be back with my true love Jamie and I will be truly happy once again in eighteenth century Scotland.

Blaire goes to the standing stones where the buzzing sound gets louder and louder. Soon she faints and falls to the ground. When she wakes up…

Blaire nearly jumps in the air when she encounters a man dressed in heavy plaid lumberjack shirt, a warm coat, and a tuque on the stage.

Blaire Rendell: Wh-who the hell are you?   And where the hell am I?

Jack Fraiser: My name is Jack Fraiser.  And we are in Des Moines, Iowa tonight!

*”Runnin’ Back to Saskatoon”- The Guess Who

Jack and Blaire start their way towards the ring.

Rick Hall: Did I mention I love indy wrestling.

Thunderbolt Smith: A time or two.

Kimber Marshall: And contestant number three…

*“Whiskey Man”- Molly Hatchet*

The crowd pops as the music of the Men’s Heartland Champion J.J. Bittinger plays.

A few seconds later, Bittinger makes his way out as the vocals to the song begin.

Hey whiskey man, you’re running as hard as you can
You drink your whiskey too much more than you can stand
You have your highs, you have your lows
Nobody knows which way you go

Whiskey man, don’t you play that hand too long
Whiskey man, don’t you play that hand too long

Holding the Heartland belt in the air, Bittinger strides to the ring.

Thunderbolt Smith: Kellie Burkowski spoke to all three men before the match.  Kellie?

Cut to Kellie backstage.

Kellie Burkowski: Yeah Thunderbolt.  Actually all four counting Charlie Blackwell.  Escondido and Blackwell have been in this spot before.  They were pretty cool and just biding their time before the match.  J.J. Bittinger was focused and intense.  And Jack Fraiser was the most nervous of the four.  He couldn’t wait until Blaire Rendell returned from 1946 to accompany him to the ring. That’s all I’ve got.

Cut back to the ring.

Thunderbolt Smith: Thanks Kellie.  Brent Payson will be our referee and…

*DING-DING*

Thunderbolt Smith: This match is underway.

****************************

MATCH #1/WINNER FACES MEN’S CHAMPION AT WRESTLING NIGHT IN AMERICA PPV

#3 Jack Fraiser vs. #4 ‘No Frills’ Chris Escondido vs. Men’s Heartland Champion J.J. Bittinger

The survivor then faces #2 ‘Charlie Wrestling’ Charlie Blackwell

****************************

Fraiser, Escondido, and Bittinger warily eye each other.  Escondido advances forward and drops to the floor in between Fraiser and Bittinger.  He bounces right back up and the trio form a triangle.

Thunderbolt Smith: Who will make the first move?

It’s Bittinger.  He locks up with Fraiser.  Escondido in and snaps off a boot to Bittinger’s gut.  Russian legsweep to Fraiser.   Bittinger doubles Escondido over with a boot of his own.  Forearm shot by J.J. drops him to a knee.  Forearm blow to the back of the neck – Escondido tries to grab a waistlock.  Fraiser sneaks in and hammers Escondido with a double axe handle.  Double team effort takes Escondido through the ropes to the floor.

Rick Hall: Thunderbolt, I think Bittinger believes Fraiser is the weak link in this match and since there’s only one fall, I think he’s going to focus on him as much as he can.

Bittinger and Fraiser lock up- Escondido takes a walk around the ring.  Fraiser send J.J. to the ropes- J.J. decks him with a shoulder block.  Now J.J. to the ropes – step over Fraiser who’s dropped to the deck – off the opposite ropes – Fraiser leaps up – Bittinger under – stops – now Fraiser off the ropes – Bittinger leaps up – Fraiser under – Bittinger drops to his back as Fraiser dives at him and rolls up to a standing position.  Bittinger ducks Fraiser’s clothesline – off the ropes – scissors the head and hurricanranas Fraiser to the mat.

The crowd applauds.

Rick Hall: Jack’s holding his own.  But J.J. has the matchup he wants.

Again Fraiser charges forward – Bittinger ducks the clothesline – Fraiser off the ropes – Bittinger goes for a body slam – Fraiser flips out and armdrag takes Bittinger down.  Escondido back in and claps his hands.  Then he hits a superkick to Bittinger that sends him over the top rope to the floor.

Thunderbolt Smith: All right!  We will be back with MORE action right after these messages, right here on HOTv.

Thunderbolt Smith: And we are back on HOTv.  This is the first part of this two stage match to determine who will be the challenger for the Men’s title at Wrestling Night in America with Jack Fraiser, ‘No Frills’ Chris Escondido, and J.J. Bittinger.  Let’s get back to the action.

Escondido off the ropes – whiffs on a clothesline.  Fraiser with a small package… 1 … 2 Bittinger hammers Fraiser from behind and breaks the count.  Bittinger to the top rope – big elbow drop on Fraiser.  Hook the leg… 1 … 2 Escondido boots Bittinger off.  Bittinger tosses Escondido through the ropes to the floor.

Rick Hall: Again, Bittinger is trying to isolate Fraiser and keep Escondido at bay.

Bittinger drives the forearm onto Fraiser’s neck, upper back.  Fraiser brought back to his feet- Bittinger nails him with a forearm to the face – Fraiser to the mat.  Bittinger steps in close to his other leg and tries to trap the leg in place – Fraiser uses his free leg and boots Bittinger away.

Rick Hall: Jack Fraiser blocks the Bittinger Bear Trap.

Bittinger sends Fraiser to the ropes – tilt-a-whirl backbreaker nearly breaks Jack in half.   Cover… 1 … 2 … Fraiser gets a shoulder up.  Bittinger stands – doesn’t see Escondido lurking behind him.  Bittinger turns – SMACK – doubles over from the big boot to the gut.  Escondido throws him down in the corner and lays the boots to him.

Rick Hall: And conversely, Chris Escondido just bides his time and lets Bittinger and Fraiser beat on each other until the right time for him to jump in.

Escondido drives the boot into Bittinger’s neck – Payson starts a five count and Escondido relents at 4.9.  Fraiser behind Escondido – drop toe hold takes Escondido down.  Escondido back up – Fireman’s carry by Fraiser.  He slings Escondido over and drives his back onto his knee.

Thunderbolt Smith: CANADIAN NATIONAL RAILAWAY!

Fraiser for the win… 1 … 2 … NO!

Thunderbolt Smith: J.J. BITTINGER MAKES THE SAVE!

Bittinger hooks Escondido’s leg… 1 … 2 … NO!  Fraiser pulls Bittinger off.  Bittinger boots Fraiser in the balls.  Jack’s face contorts and he tips over to the mat.   Bittinger steps in close to Fraiser’s leg and traps the leg in place.  J.J. grabs Fraiser’s thigh and sits down and shifts his knee into the direction opposite to Fraiser’s.

Thunderbolt Smith: BEAR TRAP!

Escondido is finally coming to. Blaire Rendell is taking off her shoes and getting ready to climb into the ring.  Rendell in – Escondido staggers to his feet and accidently shoulder blocks Blaire.

Bittinger has it cinched in deep and Fraiser has no choice but to tap.

Thunderbolt Smith: THAT’S IT!

Payson calls for the bell and we are halfway home.  Kimber Marshall back in the ring.

WINNER OF STAGE ONE: J.J. Bittinger @ 9:50 (edited to 7:30 for television)

Thunderbolt Smith: J.J. Bittinger will go on to face Charlie Blackwell but how much gas does he have left in the tank?

Rick Hall: And that’s big question.  I think J.J. bargained on this going a little quicker than it did- full credit to Fraiser and Escondido.  He now has to face a fresh Charlie Blackwell.

‘Texas Kind of Way’- Cody Johnson

‘Charlie Wrestling’ Charlie Blackwell
AGE: 29 / HT: 6′ 4″  WT: 224 / HOME: Dallas, TX
FIN: Katahajime
MGR: Dawn McGill

The arena lets loose with a loud roar when Charlie Blackwell pops out on stage.

Thunderbolt Smith: And here comes Charlie.

CHARLIE WRESTLING! (Clap.  Clap.  Clap-clap-clap.)

CHARLIE WRESTLING! (Clap.  Clap.  Clap-clap-clap.)

Colorado is too cold
The snow gets the best of me
Just laying there beside the fire place
Looks like where you oughta be

Blackwell is followed out by Dawn McGill

And Oklahoma is too rich
With American history
It’s kind funny how it reminds me
Of all those books you use to read

McGill holds up a placard that reads ‘Charlie Wrestling!’  Blackwell turns his back and shows off his robe which also says ‘Charlie Wrestling’ on the back.

And if I stay gone much longer
I might really go insane
‘Cause no matter where I go
Well I’ll just be missing you
In a Texas kind of way

Blackwell turns to McGill and they fistbump.  Then they begin their walk to the ring.

CHARLIE WRESTLING! (Clap.  Clap.  Clap-clap-clap.)

CHARLIE WRESTLING! (Clap.  Clap.  Clap-clap-clap.)

Rick Hall: The last time these two met, J.J. Bittinger was hungry and on a mission.  Tonight, not only is Bittinger on a mission but ever since Dawn McGill took over as his manager Charlie Blackwell has also been on a mission.

Thunderbolt Smith: Winner faces the Men’s Champion at Wrestling Night in America in two weeks.

Payson calls for the bell and the match restarts.

Thunderbolt Smith: And we are under way.

Blackwell and Bittinger circle slowly.

Blackwell is focused and patient.  J.J. looks for the first opening to strike.

Finally, they go to lock up in the middle of the ring – Bittinger spins and drop toeholds Blackwell to the mat.  Armbar on Charlie’s arm… no- Blackwell rolls away.  Blackwell tries to shoot the leg – Bittinger steps aside and Charlie tumbles to the mat.  Stomp by Bittinger… no… Blackwell rolls clear.  Back to his feet, Blackwell whirls around- SMACK!

Rick Hall: Spinning heel kick gets Bittinger’s attention.  Blackwell runs the ropes and launches himself at Bittinger – J.J. ducks – Blackwell rolls back to his feet.  He drops to a seated position and drives a knife edged thrust up to Bittinger’s throat sending the former MVW Men’s Champion toppling backwards landing hard on the mat.  Blackwell rushes in to follow up.  Bittinger scrambles to stay clear and grabs on to the bottom rope.  He pulls himself under the rope to the apron.

Martin calls for a break.  The crowd stands and applaud.

Thunderbolt Smith: Both wrestlers stop and catch their breath after that fast-paced series of moves.

Rick Hall: If there was any doubt that these two can go, that sequence should dispel that nonsense.  J.J. has to find a way to get and keep the pressure on Blackwell like he did last December.  Blackwell needs to keep his cool and counter.

Lock up.  Blackwell tries to get an arm wringer.  Bittinger reverses the wringer and grabs Blackwell’s other arm.  He twists around into a straitjacket hold that Blackwell tries to fight out.  He tries a back kick that glances off J.J.’s leg.

Blackwell then tries a different idea.  He slowly flips the tables on Bittinger by turning it around…but J.J. holds him off and turns it back.  Blackwell drops and bridges – spins and this time succeeds in reversing the hold back on Bittinger.  Charlie sits Bittinger down on the deck and digs a knee deep into his back.

Bittinger tries to move left and right.  Blackwell attempts to sit down and pull J.J. back towards him to put even more pressure on the hold.  But Bittinger rolls through up and over him to put the straitjacket back on Blackwell!

Thunderbolt Smith: Neither man is giving an inch here.  They are battling hard to gain any advantage over the other.

Rick Hall: This is what J.J. wants.  Bittinger wants to wear Blackwell down to set him up for either the Bear Hug or the Bear Trap.

Blackwell grows frustrated having to fight off the straitjacket hold again.  He wiggles down and slips out –  Bittinger drives a forearm shiver to the back of his neck – grabs his arms again – and puts him right back in the jacket!

Quick cut to the crowd.  They are on their feet and watching close at the heated back and forth exchanges going on.

But Blackwell again finds a way to slip out of the hold.  Bittinger goes with a pump handle and attempts to slam Blackwell – Charlie boots Bittinger in the gut.  Headlock takeover by J.J. – Blackwell slips out and arm-drags Bittinger to the mat.  J.J. gets right back up and arm-drags Blackwell down.  Charlie counters with a headscissors.  Bittinger pops out.  Snap suplex by J.J. but Blackwell flips through and lands on his feet.

Again, the crowd roars.

Rick Hall: J.J. Bittinger is throwing everything he can at Blackwell but he’s clearly starting to suck air here.

Thunderbolt Smith: Charlie Blackwell has kept his poise and has not allowed him to take him out of his game plan.

Bittinger and Blackwell approach…Eye rake by J.J.!

Rick Hall: J.J. takes a shortcut.

Blackwell stumbles back but pushes Bittinger away.  A tiring Bittinger continues to force the action and goes for an Irish whip – Blackwell reverses and sends Bittinger to the ropes.  He ducks the running full-weight lariat on the return and that leaves J.J. off-balance and wide open.  Blackwell sweeps his leg out and Bittinger falls to the mat.  He rolls J.J. over and hooks his leg across Bittinger’s neck – hooks his hands behind his head – pulls backwards with his arms – pushes forward and tries to scissors his right leg.

Thunderbolt Smith: Koji Clutch by Blackwell!

The hold isn’t cinched in enough though and Bittinger slips out.  Blackwell keeps him on the mat to keep the pressure on and possibly try to slap on the Katahajime.  But J.J. is wise to that and lunges for the bottom rope.  Referee Ron Martin immediately calls for a break.

Rick Hall: Bittinger’s tired but he still has enough awareness to make sure he doesn’t let Blackwell put the Katahajime on him.

Both men up.  Boot to the gut by Blackwell.  He lifts Bittinger up for a suplex – Blackwell blocks – reverses – Abdominal Stretch.  But J.J. doesn’t have it on completely – Blackwell escapes – hiptosses Bittinger to the mat.  Blackwell presses the attack and runs right into a right hand by Bittinger.  Fireman’s carry by J.J. into a gutbuster.  Cover… 1 … 2- Blackwell kicks out.  J.J. tries for another cover… 1 … 2 … and again Blackwell kicks out.  J.J. hooks both arms and sets up for a Guillotine Drop.  Blackwell gets his feet down and blocks – he flips Bittinger over him and dives on for the cover… 1 … 2 … J.J. kicks out and sends Blackwell for a ride to the ropes.  He bends down again – Blackwell leaps up and over – hooks Bittinger at the waist – pulls him down into a pinning situation.

Thunderbolt Smith: SUNSET FLIP!

1 … 2 – J.J. rolls and gets the shoulder up.  Blackwell climbs to the top of the turnbuckle.  He eyes.

Thunderbolt Smith: Blackwell’s going for the High Angle Senton Bomb.

He flies.  But . . .

Thunderbolt Smith: BITTINGER MOVES OUT OF THE WAY!

. . . there’s no one home and Blackwell lands hard on the mat.   Now J.J. hauls himself up to the top turnbuckle.  He sets.  He takes flight.

Rick Hall: J.J. Bittinger has thrown caution to the wind-

*SMACK*

Thunderbolt Smith: NO!  Blackwell gets his leg up and catches Bittinger flush with his boot!

J.J. spins around and falls to the mat.  Blackwell immediately wraps Bittinger up in the Katahajime.

Thunderbolt Smith: KATAHAJIME!

Rick Hall: Good night J.J.

Bittinger tries rocking back and forth to get loose.

Rick Hall: Blackwell’s got the hold cinched in pretty tight Thunderbolt.

J.J. finally taps out and that’s it.

*DING-DING-DING*

Thunderbolt Smith: HE’S DONE IT!  CHARLIE BLACKWELL AVENGES THE LOSS AT EVENING OF CHAMPIONS AND HE WILL FACE THE MEN’S CHAMPION IN TWO WEEKS FOR THE TITLE!

Kimber Marshall in the ring to make it official.

WINNER OF STAGE TWO AND THE MATCH: Charlie Blackwell @ 8:15

Blackwell and McGill high five.

Rick Hall: Charlie deserved this win but all credit to J.J. Bittinger.  He was out here for seventeen minutes plus and proved he’s finally back.

Blackwell and McGill exit the ring.  J.J. has the microphone and he’s going to speak.

Thunderbolt Smith: All right.  J.J. has a few things to say.

J.J. Bittinger: Congratulations to Charlie Blackwell.

Bittinger claps his hands.

J.J. Bittinger: Tonight, I think I realize that after all these months, I’m ready to jump back into the fray for the big belt.  So…

J.J. holds the Heartland title up.

J.J. Bittinger: It’s time for someone else to carry this banner while I go after the MVW Men’s title.

He places the title belt on the mat and exits.

Thunderbolt Smith: So J.J. Bittinger voluntarily drops the Heartland title and he is back in the Men’s division.

Rick Hall: And with Charlie Blackwell back in form, there’s not going to be a shortage of challengers that ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson is going to have to fend off.

Thunderbolt Smith: Okay.  Main event next.  We’ll return after these commercial messages here on HOTv.

Rick Hall: Charlie Blackwell and J.J. Bittinger put on a show for the fans tonight.  Can the People’s Front of Berea and the Southern Boys deliver the same?

Thunderbolt Smith: We’re about to find out if the People’s Front of Berea can hold on to the MVW Men’s Tag Team title.  Next week on Wrestling Night in the Heartland, we will have these matches from Des Moines:

WINNER FACES MEN’S TAG TEAM CHAMPION AT WRESTLING NIGHT IN AMERICA PPV

MEN’S TITLE MATCH
‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson © vs. Average Joe

Thunderbolt Smith: But now, it’s time for our main event.  Let’s go to Kimber Marshall in the ring.

Cut to Kimber in the ring.

Kimber Marshall: Ladies and gentlemen.  Our main event tonight will be . . .

ONE FALL!

Kimber Marshall: . . . and it will be for the Missouri Valley Wrestling Men’s Tag Team Title.

The crowd rises to their feet.

Kimber Marshall: Introducing first, the challengers . . .

*”Everlong”- Foo Fighters*

Hello
I’ve waited here for you
Everlong
Tonight
I throw myself into
And out of the red
Out of her head she sang

‘Dastardly’ Dave Miller comes out.

And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I’ll ever ask of you
You gotta promise not to stop when I say when she sang

Miller acknowledges the cheers the fans.

*”Screw You, We’re From Texas”- Ray Wylie Hubbard*

I got on my cowboy boots, jeans
And Hawaiian shirt, mirrored sunglasses
And a mobile phone
I guess I look like some Port Aransas
Dope dealer that’s out on bail
Just trying to get home

Out walks ‘Dangerous’ Dan Williams to join Miller.

Well I ain’t in jail and I got me a guitar
Got a little band that’s hotter than a rocket
Sometimes we’re sloppy
We’re always loud, tonight we’re just ornery
And locked in the pocket

So screw you, we’re from Texas
Screw you, we’re from Texas
Screw you, we’re from Texas
We’re from Texas baby, so screw you

Kimber does the introduction.

Williams fist bumps Miller and then Butler on the stage and then the trio walk to the ring.

Kimber Marshall: And their opponents . . .

The crowd roars for the underdog champions.

Kimber Marshall: . . . they are the reigning MISSOURI VALLEY WRESTLING MEN’S TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!

*‘Rednecker’- Hardy*

Thunderbolt Smith: And here they come.

The crowd explodes as Hardy’s ‘Rednecker’ blares over the sound speaker.

So you think you’ve got some county line cred
‘Cause you rode a dirt road or two
You got a Mossy Oak hat on top of your head
And a Southern Pride tattoo.

Out walks Zeb Morris with Dayle Joe Foster and Ezekiel Walker behind him.  Then Delaney and Bailey Foster and Kellyanne Morris follow.

Kimber Marshall finishes the introduction.

My truck’s louder than your truck
And my collar’s a little more blue
You might think that you’re redneck
But I’m rednecker than you
Yes I am

Thunderbolt Smith: Foster and Walker head to the ring and you wonder what’s going through their head right now.

Rick Hall: They have a huge task ahead of them.  The People’s Front of Berea are the decided underdogs in this match against the former two time champions the Southern Boys.  Zeb Morris has talked up a brave game in the past couple weeks but Dayle Joe Foster and Ezekiel Walker are going to have to find a way to pull this off.

Thunderbolt Smith: Davey Keels is the referee and this match is just about to start.

*DING-DING*

Thunderbolt Smith: And here we go!

Foster walks out and meets Williams in the middle of the ring.  He reaches out a hand to Williams.  Williams takes the hand – armdrag takedown.  Foster rolls on the mat and jumps right back up.  He charges – second armdrag takedown by Williams.  Foster again up.  He feints a third charge.  Williams reaches forward – standing dropkick by Foster.  Walker on the top turnbuckle now.  Williams turns to face him.  He jumps and dropkicks Williams while Foster takes out his legs from behind.  Foster hooks the legs… 1 … 2 … ‘Dastardly’ Dave Miller in to make the early save.

Rick Hall: Well Thunderbolt, the PFB just served notice that they are here to win this match.  A little doubleteam action and Miller had to rush in to break up the pinfall.

Foster pulls Williams up and whips him into their corner.  Tags in Walker.  Walker lays in the chops.  One.  Two.  Three.  He takes the middle rope in each hand and propels himself forward shoulder first into Williams’s midsection.  One.  Two.  Three times.  Walker tags Foster back in.  Foster on the top turnbuckle…he takes an inverted facelock and jumps over Williams, flipping him over in the process.  Cover…1…Williams grabs the bottom rope.  Foster drops back to the middle of the ring.

Thunderbolt Smith: A really good first couple minute sequence from the champions.

Rick Hall: Thunderbolt, The People’s Front of Berea mean business tonight.

Williams and Foster meet.  Williams rakes the eyes.

Rick Hall: Williams takes a short cut to try to stop the momentum.

Kick to the midsection by Williams.  He takes Foster’s arm and wrings it out.  Backhand chop staggers him and Williams takes Foster to the Southern Boys corner to tag Miller in.  Double drop toe-hold sends Foster face first to the mat.  Williams and Miller lift Foster up…double Fireman’s Carry Slam.

Rick Hall: The Southern Boys showing they can play the doubleteam game as well.

The referee orders Williams out.  Miller locks in the front facelock and slips it into a chokehold.  Keels then turns around and starts the count…1…2…3… Miller goes back to the front facelock.

Rick Hall: Thunderbolt, Miller trying to slow the pace down and take the sting out of People’s Front of Berea’s early momentum.

Foster sways side to side.  Miller holds the facelock.  Williams tries to slip back into the ring.  The referee stops him at the ropes and Miller again goes to a chokehold.  Zeb Morris jumps onto the ring apron and screams at Davey Keels as the referee jousts with Williams in the opposite corner.

Thunderbolt Smith: Miller’s choking out Foster while the referee is hung up keeping Williams out of the ring.

Rick Hall: This is where the Southern Boys are going to have a huge advantage over the PFB.  This is their wheelhouse and they can play rough when the occasion calls for it.

Finally, Morris grabs a chair and tosses it to Walker. Walker climbs through the ropes – Williams sees and immediately ceases his discourse with Keels – he points at Walker.  Walker raises his hands and steps back out. Keels starts a five count on Miller and the chokehold is broken at 4.  Keels then gives Foster a chance to recover by getting in Miller’s face and reading him the riot act.  Foster crawls to his corner and tags Walker back in.

Rick Hall: Now it’s the Southern Boys who are angry with Davey Keels!

Williams and Miller rip into Keels.  Walker slips in from behind – rolls Miller up – cover … 1 … 2- Williams yanks Walker off Miller.  Foster back in and he unloads a right hand on Williams.  Walker and Miller start to brawl.  Keels starts a five count on both Foster and Williams.

Cut to the broadcast desk.

Thunderbolt Smith: Davey Keels is fighting hard to keep control of this match.

Rick Hall: He is Thunderbolt.  But the champions have come out and made it clear that they are not going to be cowed by being in the ring with the Southern Boys.  They’ve stood their ground so far.

Cut back to the ring.

Williams back in against Walker.  Boot to the midsection by Williams.  He picks Walker up and powerbombs him to the mat.  Cover… 1 … 2 ..- Walker kicks out.

Rick Hall: That powerbomb shook the ring big time.  But Walker somehow digs deep and kicks out.

Williams takes Walker by the hair and drags him to the Southern Boys corner.  Miller tags in.  He lays the boots in on Walker and drives him to a seated position in the corner.  Miller sticks his boot in Walker’s neck.  Zeb Morris up on the apron again to complain.  Keels starts a five count – Miller relents at 4.8 and tags Williams back in.  Side slam by Williams.  Covers… 1… 2… again Walker kicks out.

Thunderbolt Smith: That’s two violent, impact moves by Dan Williams that Ezekiel Walker somehow kicked out of.

Rick Hall: Thunderbolt, the PFB have definitely raised their game tonight.  But now the Southern Boys are starting to really take control of the match.

Williams drops Walker with a head butt.  He hooks the legs again… 1… 2… 3-NO!

Rick Hall: That was close!  Walker’s got to get out of there.

Both Morris and Foster are now banging on the top rope.  Williams hits another powerbomb and covers… 1… 2… Foster makes the save!  Miller in and he tackles Foster – they roll out of the ring.  Williams lifts Walker up- Fisherman’s buster.

Thunderbolt Smith: THIS COULD BE IT!

Cover… 1… 2…

Thunderbolt Smith: NO!  ZEB MORRIS MAKES THE SAVE!

Rick Hall: Unbelieveable!  Miller and Foster are brawling on the floor.  Morris put his body on the line by jumping in there and making the last ditch save.

The crowd suddenly roars as several people race down to the ring.

Thunderbolt Smith: HERE COMES THE SEC!

*DING-DING-DING-DING*

Thunderbolt Smith: Davey Keels has thrown this match out as the SEC’s war with the Southern Boys continues to rage here in MVW.

Rick Hall: Thunderbolt, I believe this means the People’s Front of Berea will in fact leave this ring as the Tag Team Champions.

Thunderbolt Smith: We’re going to find out right now.

As the brawl continues outside the ring, Kimber Marshall is in the ring to deliver the referee’s decision.

WINNER VIA DQ: The Southern Boys @ 14:04 (edited to 10:00 for television)- The People’s Front of Berea retain the titles.

6/8-Wrestling Night in the Heartland

LAST WEEK ON WRESTLING NIGHT IN THE HEARTLAND ON HOTv
-MATCH #1/#1 CONTENDER’S MATCH-MEN’S TAG TEAM: The Southern Boys defeated The Sports Entertainment Corporation
-The SEC are furious because the Dark Overlords of Wrestling with Dawn and Victoria McGill attacked SEC’s hired guns Bobby Ricky Michaels and Marty Gibson-Lane at ringside during the previous match.  ‘Sports Entertainment Genius’ Mr. McMann blames them for the loss.
-Dawn McGill tells Kellie Burkowski it was ‘karma’ that happened tonight to the SEC.
-Zeb Morris cuts a promo for the Men’s Tag Team Champions The People’s Front of Berea and says the PFB are going to surprise people when they walk out of Des Moines still the tag champions.
-MATCH #2/#1 CONTENDER’S MATCH-MEN’S DIVISION: Average Joe defeated Jack Fraiser
-Kellie talks with J.J. Bittinger.  Bittinger says he’s back and demands a title shot against ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson at Wrestling Night in America.
-MAIN EVENT/WOMEN’S TITLE MATCH: Lisa Barbosa-Stevens © defeated Christa Carmondy
-Again, the SEC are irate because ‘Queen of the Trailer Park’ Lani Harlot (whom Carmondy walked out of a tag match leaving Harlot to face Sheline Carrigan and Shizuko Yamazaki by herself) came to the ring and distracted her.  But then Ultratron-5.1’s Army attacked the SEC as the show ended.

MVW’s Wrestling Night in the Heartland on HOTv
Monday June 8th, 2020

Taped Saturday June 6th, 2020
Eihusen Arena
Grand Island, NE

Announcer: Thunderbolt Smith and ‘Long Haul’ Rick Hall
Backstage Interviewer: Kellie Burkowski
Ring Announcer: Kimber Marshall

Cut to Thunderbolt Smith and Rick Hall in the middle of the ring.

The crowd is on their feet and making lots of noise.

Thunderbolt Smith: Hello and welcome to Missouri Valley Wrestling’s Wrestling Night in the Heartland on HOTv!  Tonight, we are at the Eihusen Arena in Grand Island, Nebraska for a big night of minor league wrestling here in the heartland. With me as always, ‘Long Haul’ Rick Hall . . .

Rick gives an Orange Cassidy-style half-assed wave.

Rick Hall: Hey.

(NOTE: Short form results tonight due to vacation and time constraints)

Thunderbolt previews tonight’s show:
-Christa Carmondy and ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin of the SEC vs. ‘Canadian Cyborg’ Sheline Carrigan and ‘Queen of the Trailer Park’ Lani Harlot

Rick Hall: Two teams who do not like each other one bit.

-Jack Fraiser vs. ‘Charlie Wrestling’ Charlie Blackwell

Rick Hall: Huge match in the men’s division.  Fraiser is ranked #2; Blackwell #3.

-MAIN EVENT/NON-TITLE-Men’s Champion ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson vs. John O’Reilly

Rick Hall: Can the Irish brawler make an impression on the champion?

SEGMENT ONE-MVW Owner/CEO Ray McAvay
McAvay comes out to the stage accompanied by his wife Stacee Perry (aka Dark aka one half of West Texas Adult Entertainment Legends Dark and Stormy) to address a few things.

-McAvay acknowledges ‘Sports Entertainment Genius’ Mr. McMann’s ‘concerns’ about outside interference costing the Sports Entertainment Corporation possible title shots/tells McMann much of this is ‘what goes around comes around.’

Ray McAvay: I want our titles and title matches determined by what happens in the ring between two people and not by outside forces interfering in the match.  So with that in mind, this is how we are going to address this situation.  The title matches and number one contender’s matches for our show next week in Des Moines are set in stone.  But I am announcing the following…

-‘Terrors of the Demolition Derby’ The Malachi Brothers: Fred and Bob (ranked #2), Sports Entertainment Corporation-P.M.C. Banks and Kirk Walstreit (ranked #3), and The Dark Overlords of Wrestling: ‘Not Just Unbearable…Not Just Intolerable…He is…’ Justin Sufferable and ‘The Raconteur of Road Rage’ Triple R (ranked #4) will meet in Des Moines, Iowa with the winner to face whomever the Men’s Tag Team champion is at Wrestling Night in America Pay Per View on June 28th– The People’s Front of Berea or the Southern Boys.

Ray McAvay: The format of the match is as follows: #3 starts with #4 with the #2 ranked wrestlers then joining in after one of the first two teams is eliminated.

-‘Charlie Wrestling’ Charlie Blackwell (ranked #2), Jack Fraiser (ranked #3), ‘No Frills’ Chris Escondido (ranked #4), AND J.J. Bittinger will meet with the winner to face whomever the Men’s Champion is at Wrestling Night in America- ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson or Average Joe.

Ray McAvay: J.J. Bittinger demanded a shot.  Seeing as he did not get a chance to regain his title due to injury, I am giving him his shot.  If he wins the match, J.J. will forfeit the Heartland title and we will crown a new champion at Wrestling Night in America.  The match will start with #3, #4, and Bittinger in a three-way match with #2 joining the match to face the survivor.

-McAvay also announces at Wrestling Night in America, the women’s division and tag team division will also have this type of match to determine who will face their respective champions two weeks later in Valparaiso, Indiana.

MATCH #1-Christa Carmondy and ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin of the SEC vs. ‘Canadian Cyborg’ Sheline Carrigan and ‘Queen of the Trailer Park’ Lani Harlot
-The SEC duo of Carmondy and Martin take on Carrigan (whom Carmondy faces next week in a #1 contender’s match) and Harlot (who’s drawn the SEC’s ire after interfering in a Carmondy match).
-Carrigan and Harlot start off red hot.  They work together extremely well and hit big moves on both members of the SEC in the first minute of the match.  Both Carmondy and Tessa slide outside the ring fuming.  Carmondy rallies a bit but Carrigan tags in Harlot and all hell breaks loose again.  Finally, both Carmondy and Tessa exit the ring and head to the back.

WINNER VIA COUNT-OUT: ‘Canadian Cyborg’ Sheline Carrigan and ‘Queen of the Trailer Park’ Lani Harlot @ 2:51

SEGMENT TWO-Sports Entertainment Genius Mr. McMann’s Response
Speaking to Corporate Sports (entertainment) Programming Nation’s Reese Anderson, Mr. McMann responds to Ray McAvay’s earlier announcement.

-McMann states that once again, the SEC (Banks and Walstreit) are being screwed over by being forced to wrestle in a multi-team tag match when they were unfairly attacked the week before and prevented from earning the title shot they deserve.

-McMann threatens to pull Banks and Walstreit out of the match.  Ray McAvay shows up and tells McMann that Banks and Walstreit can refuse to wrestle- McAvay will then refuse to pay them.  McAvay reminds McMann that he runs MVW, he’s made his decision, and that’s the end of it.

-McAvay leaves.  McMann stands there silent and fumes.

MATCH #2-Jack Fraiser vs. Charlie Blackwell
-Fraiser versus Blackwell in a #2 vs. #3 Men’s Division match.  Blackwell tries to put himself back in position for a title shot six months after his 16 month Men’s title reign ended at the hands of J.J. Bittinger.  Fraiser wants to get back on track after losing a #1 contender’s match to Average Joe.
-With Dawn McGill in his corner, Blackwell starts fast.  He dominates early and puts together moves in a way reminiscent of the way he looked during his title run.  Fraiser, with help from Blaire Rendell, battles back but tonight it’s too much Charlie Blackwell.  He slaps on the Katahajime.  Rendell tries to make the save but McGill cuts her off at the pass.

WINNER: Charlie Blackwell @ 7:15

SEGMENT FIVE-Average Joe Interview
-Kellie Burkowski talks with Average Joe backstage.

-Average Joe faces ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson next week for the Men’s Title.  He gave ‘Big Money’ Darin Matthews a ‘big money’ scare a few weeks back- can he repeat the same performance against Dickinson?  Average Joe says yes.  Kellie asks how is he preparing for the match?

Average Joe: I’m treating it like any other match.  Bill Dickinson is a great wrestler.  I’m going to be ready for anything that happens once the match begins.

-Kellie asks him if he’s going to be scouting Dickinson when he wrestles John O’Reilly in just a few minutes.  Average Joe indicates that he will be watching the match with ‘great interest.’

MAIN EVENT/NON-TITLE- Men’s Champion ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson vs. John O’Reilly
-John O’Reilly has a cannonball for a right and left hand.  Can he pull off the stunning upset tonight?  Will Bill Dickinson be looking past O’Reilly towards Average Joe?

-O’Reilly comes out and tags Dickinson with a right hand out of the gate.  The Men’s Champion regathers himself and slowly works himself back into his groove.  Dickinson starts suplexing the hell out of O’Reilly to take the starch out of him.  Then he delivers the coupe de grace with a Southern Fried Powerbomb to finish the job.

WINNER: ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson @ 6:10

SEGMENT SIX-Dickinson Speaks
-Kellie Burkowski joins Dickinson in the ring.

-Dickinson tells Kellie that there’s a rule: To be The Guy you have to beat The Guy.  Right now, Bill Dickinson is The Guy.  He knows Average Joe is dangerous.  He knows Average Joe is good enough to sneak out a win next week.  But Dickinson says that’s not going to- he gets jumped by Marty Gibson-Lane, Bobby Ricky Michaels, Kirk Walstreit, and P.M.C. Banks of the SEC.  The SEC’s Director of Security Jackson C. Horne orchestrates the attack.

-Backstage, the other three members of the Southern Boys are shown to be laid out on the floor, presumably by the SEC before they went out to attack Dickinson.

-Then ‘The New Age Cybertronic Criminally Insane Rogue Sentient Robot Wrestling Machine’ Ultratron-5.1 leads his forces out- Hawaii Five-One-Five-O and the Murder Hornets along with ten miniature Ultratron-5.1’s.  They chase the SEC to the back as the show ends.
