1/21-St. Louis Supershow-Part One

2022 Carmondy Cup Final Results
WOMEN’S TAG TEAM FINAL: Women’s Tag Team Champions Jill Berg Enterprises (Sheline Carrigan/Prisoner #034291) vs. The Hanson Sisters (Andrea and Melissa)
-The Hanson Sisters came close to pulling off the upset but Jill Berg Enterprises wins the Carmondy Cup Women’s Tag Team tournament.  However, by virtue of the fact that the Women’s Tag Team Champions won the Carmondy Cup, the Hansons will then get the title shot next month at the St. Louis Supershow.

MEN’S TAG TEAM FINAL: Men’s Tag Team Champions The Stevens Dynasty (Bo and George) vs. The Kardoucheian Empire (Koley and Kourtney)
-The Kardoucheians were all over the Men’s Tag Team Champions early on but then George Stevens decided to destroy all four Kardoucheians and the tide turned back to the Stevens Dynasty.  The Men’s Tag Team Champions avenge the DQ loss from last week… BUT… The Kardoucheians WILL get another shot at the Stevens at the St. Louis Supershow in January.

WOMEN’S FINAL: Women’s Champion Victoria McGill vs. Women’s Heartland Champion Daryn Thompson
-This was another knockdown, drag-out free-for-all with the Women’s Champion surviving Daryn Thompson’s determined effort to pull off the upset.  Tori McGill turned it on late but knows that Thompson will be a formidable opponent when the two meet again at the St. Louis Supershow… this time for the Women’s Title.

MEN’S FINAL: Men’s Champion ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson vs. John O’Reilly
-O’Reilly was on top early on.  But Dickinson picked up the pace and O’Reilly made a couple key mistakes allowing the Men’s Champion to get the victory in the first of three consecutive matches between Dickinson and O’Reilly.  The two will meet again next week at Evening of Champions and then one more time at the St. Louis Supershow.

Cue the pyro…

We start with Thunderbolt and Hall at the broadcast desk.

Thunderbolt Smith: Hello and welcome to the 2023 St. Louis Supershow!

Thunderbolt Smith: I am Thunderbolt Smith.  He is ‘Long Haul’ Rick Hall…

Rick Hall: Hey.

Thunderbolt Smith: Tonight, we have five matches for you… four of them title matches.

Rick Hall: That’s right, Thunderbolt.  Earlier this week, MVW Owner Ray McAvay added a fifth match to tonight’s St. Louis Supershow… MVW’s latest signing and it’s a big one… Jennifer Colton will be in action tonight.  She will take on long time MVW veteran C.J Lewis in our opening match.  The rest of the matches you already know of.  By virtue of finishing second in the Carmondy Cup to the four champions, tonight’s card is the same as the Carmondy Cup finals.

MATCH #1: Jennifer Colton vs. C.J. Lewis of the Working Girls
Ring announcer Heather Cooper is in the ring.

Heather Cooper: Ladies and gentlemen!  Our first match tonight will be one fall.  Introducing first…

C.J. Lewis comes out in a white Hooter’s tank top with black shorts and tennis shoes.

Heather Cooper: From Conway, New Hampshire and weighing in tonight at 135 pounds.  She is one half of the tag team The Working Girls… Ceeeee Jaaaaaaaay  Lewis!

Lewis poses on the stage and starts down the ramp.

Heather Cooper: And her opponent tonight… making her MVW debut.

Jennifer Colton walks out wearing a purple top and thigh-length trunks with a white stripe down the side; purple knee and elbow pads; white boots with purple trim.

Thunderbolt Smith: And Jennifer Colton has officially arrived in MVW.

Heather Cooper: She is from Evansville, Indiana.  Weighing tonight at 130 pounds and making her Missouri Valley Wrestling debut… please welcome… JENNIFER COLTON!

AGE: 21 / HT: 5’6″ WT: 130  / HOME: Evansville, IN
ALIGN: Face / STYLE: Technical w/ strikes / FIN: Colton Clutch 2

Rick Hall: Thunderbolt, Jennifer Colton is the younger sister of Nate Colton who wrestles at PRIME.  She won last year’s Belmont wrestling tournament and I believe had to beat Paxton Ray- major player in PRIME right now- to do so.  her pedigree is unmistakable.

Thunderbolt Smith: It sounds like definitely a coup to get Jennifer Colton into MVW.  Tonight, she takes on a long-time veteran of MVW, C.J. Lewis.

Rick Hall: C.J. will give the newcomer a good test. Absolutely.

Referee Corrina Romanov is in the ring.

She does the pre-match check with both wrestlers. Satisfied, she calls for the bell.

Thunderbolt Smith: Here we go.

…Lewis is down face-first on the mat.  Colton moves in. She hooks Lewis’s left arm and wraps it over her throat in a cobra clutch grip.  Then she leans back.

Thunderbolt Smith: COLTON CLUTCH 2!

C.J. immediately taps.

Thunderbolt Smith: And that’s going to do it.  Jennifer Colton gets the win here in her MVW debut.

Referee Corrina Romanov comes over to raise Colton’s arm in victory.

Heather Cooper: Your winner at eleven minutes and forty-nine seconds… JENNIFER COLTON!

Thunderbolt Smith: Rick, C.J. Lewis did NOT make it easy for Jennifer Colton tonight.

Rick Hall: Thunderbolt, no she did not. I really thought C.J. Lewis got the better of Colton early on in the match and Jennifer was getting a little frustrated.  I thought she finally got it going about midway through when she relaxed a bit and then got stronger as the match went on.  She finally wore down Lewis and slapped on Colton Clutch 2 to force C.J. to tap out.

Thunderbolt Smith: Jennifer Colton the winner in match one of the night.  One match down.  Four more to go.  Let’s take our first commercial break of the evening and we’ll be back right after this.
