Women’s Title Match Will Open Tomorrow Night’s House Show in Chicago
MVW CEO Ray McAvay announced that the Women’s Title match between champion Lisa Barbosa-Stevens and challenger ‘Canadian Cyborg’ Sheline Carrigan will open tomorrow night’s show.
McAvay explained the move was done to allow Lisa’s husband, High Octane Wrestling’s Scott Stevens, to attend the MVW house show to be there for his wife. By moving Lisa’s match to an earlier time, Stevens will have plenty of time to drive across town to HOW’s Chaos Four show which starts at a later time.
MVW’s Thirty Minute Syndicated Studio Show will Expand to Sixty Minutes
Chief Business Office Laura Bergman released a statement today confirming that due to the overwhelming response, MVW’s syndicated studio show will go to a full hour starting next week.
Bergman also revealed that while matches will continue to be taped at MVW studios in St. Louis, the show will focus on the men’s and women’s Heartland division and feature title matches taped at MVW house shows.
She announced the main event for next week’s syndicated show will be the Trailer Park Grudge Match between ‘Queen of the Trailer Park’ Lani Harlot and Women’s Heartland Champion ‘The Argenta Rose’ Eva Perrin in a match that will be taped tonight in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Wrestling Night in the Heartland Preview
Well, it’s pretty simple. Three title matches taped in Chicago. Johnny Suave will be your play by play man as both Thunderbolt Smith and ‘Long Haul’ Rick Hall will be at HOW’s Chaos show.
WOMEN’S TITLE MATCH: Lisa Barbosa-Stevens © vs. Sheline Carrigan
-With the help of Coach E.J. Flack, Carrigan has quietly returned to the form she rode to the MVW Title a couple years ago. The Canadian Cyborg took Barbosa-Stevens to the limit the last two times these two women met. Is this the moment Carrigan returns to the top? Or will she fall short once again?
-Barbosa-Stevens has found herself in the middle of her husband’s war with fellow HOW wrestler Scottywood over the past few weeks when the Hardcore Artist broke into the Stevens’s home and tied her to a bed in order to get her husband to agree to a match at HOW’s upcoming Rumble at the Rock. Will Barbosa-Stevens be distracted by all the chaos that Scottywood has brought into her and her husband’s lives? Or can she put everything behind her and get the job done once again?
TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Corporate World, Inc: P.M.C. Banks and Kirk Walstreit © vs. The Southern Boys: ‘Dastardly’ Dave Miller and ‘Dangerous’ Dan Williams
-Under the tutelage of ‘The King of Greed’ Gordon Guyko, P.M.C. Banks and Kirk Walstreit have flourished, winning back the tag belts from the Southern Boys and repelling multiple attempts to relieve them of the tag team title. Banks and Walstreit have jelled into a well-oiled tag team and it will take a herculean effort to take the belts from them. But if any team can do it, the Southern Boys can.
-Despite running into a couple of speedbumps of late, the Southern Boys continue to be serious threats to Corporate World’s title reign. Miller and Williams have also developed into a very good tag team who can brawl with the best of them but are still capable in terms of technical ability. They will want to take Corporate World out of their comfort zone and make them wrestle a style of match that is not their cup of tea.
MEN’S TITLE MATCH: Charlie Blackwell © vs. J.J. Bittinger
-Charlie Blackwell has made it to fifteen months as champion and shows no signs of slowing down. Blackwell is in the finest form of his career even though his last title defense against ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson on August 30th turned into a quite the battle as the 330 pound Southern Brawler nearly nicked the title from him. Now, he faces J.J. Bittinger who came to MVW from dominating Appalachian Mountain Championship Wrestling. Can Blackwell continue in his good form and dispatch Bittinger?
-Bittinger made an audacious start to his MVW career by attacking Blackwell in his first appearance back on August 5th. But since then, he’s moved steadily up the ladder. Bittinger defeated Dickinson with a little assistance from Rough Justice and Blackwell to earn his first shot at the MVW Men’s title. Can J.J. win the belt in his first attempt?
