The first Missouri Valley Wrestling house show of the Ray McAvay era took place last night as MVW returned to Effingham, Illinois for the second time this year.

MVW Women’s Tag Team Champions Angels of Death: Angel Scott and Angel Casey headlined the show putting their newly won belts on the line against the Missouri Valley Fight Club: Harley Davisson and Carrieanne McDermott. The AoD defeated the MVFC at MVWA 92- Davisson and McDermott invoked the rematch clause to get their match.

Several new wrestlers made their MVW debuts: Marshall Laww and Captain Jack Darrow on the men’s side and The People’s Front of Berea (KY) on the women’s side.

Missouri Valley Wrestling Effingham, IL Results:
MATCH #1-‘The Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin defeated Laney Harrison with the Pizza Cutter @ 4:20.
-Tessa Martin gets an easy win over the rookie.

Before the second match, the golden voice of one Paul Rodgers is heard in the arena singing “Layin’ Down the Law” from The Law as newcomer Marshall Laww makes his way to the ring.

MATCH #2-Marshall Laww defeated Rick Beam-Country Club Pro with the Lawwbreaker @ 6:09
-Laww’s MVW debut is a successful one with the win over the country club pro.

MATCH #3- Backman Taylor Powerdrive (Charlene Backman and Brianna Taylor) defeated Gwen and Blake Varney- Backman pinned Blake Varney with the TCB @ 3:52
-With the win over the Varney Sisters, BTP try to get themselves back into the Women’s Tag title mix.

Before the fourth match, a keyboard organ part opens the epic Billy Joel classic “Captain Jack” and introduces new wrestler Captain Jack Darrow for his first MVW match.

MATCH #4-Captain Jack Darrow defeated The Mononaghelian Stomper with the Pirate Plunder @ 12:15
-The Stomper gave the good Captain a run for his money before the MVW newcomer hit the Pirate Plunder.

In between matches, MVW CEO Ray McAvay came out to address the fans. He thanked them profusely for coming out to the show and introduced the next match.

MATCH #5-The McGill Family (Victoria McGill and Regina McGill) defeated The Hanson Sisters (Andrea and Melissa) via DQ at 7:19
-The Hansons spurred the DQ when Charissa came in and started clobbering Tori and Regina McGill with a steel chair. Referee Davey Keels disqualified The Hansons. Then Yosemite Samantha raced down and joined the Hansons until the MVW Women’s Tag Team Champion Angels of Death come to the rescue.

MATCH #6- Average Joe (Truckin’ Average Company) defeated Tom Smith ‘The World’s Most Uninteresting Man’ with the Average Slam @ 10:26
-Smith did everything he could to find a way to stay in the match.  Average Joe gets a much needed win.

Post-match: ‘The New Age Cybertronic Criminally Insane Rogue Sentient Robot Wrestling Machine’ Ultratron-5.1 holds his Heartland title celebration event with his valet Delaney Foster and Todd- the Backstage Technician. He demands that every ‘maggot’ on the roster come out and bow down to his brilliance. He’ll wait in the ring until his demand is met.

Yeah. That doesn’t happen.

Eventually, the new Heartland champion skulks back to the dressing room.

MATCH #7-Shizuko Yamazuki defeated ‘Queen Cool’ Leah Iris with the Cranial Contusion @ 16:48
-The young Japanese sensation gets her first real stern test at the hands of Leah Iris. Yamazuki stunned Iris and the crowd when she kicked out of the Pittsburgh Rocker Dropper and went on to finish Iris for the win.

MATCH #8-Georgia-Florida State Boundary: Skyler and Bryan defeated Truckin’ Average Company: Ken Worth-American Trucker and Brad Company- Bryan pinned Company with the This Is How We Roll You Up @ 16:13
-Huge win for the up and coming Corporate Pop-Country stars.

Post-match- Skyler and Bryan start a song-a-long to their theme song ‘Up Down’.

Khris Kardoucheian brought out the Kardoucheian Empire and again demanded ‘respect’ for him and his sons Ken, Koley, and Khourtney.   His reward? A sound and thorough booing.

MATCH #9-Kings of Old School (Bobby Ricky Michaels/Marty Gibson-Lane/The Foul Pole) defeated The Southern Boys (‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson/’Dastardly’ Dave Miller/’Dangerous’ Dan Williams)- Gibson-Lane pinned Williams after The Foul Pole inadvertently struck him with a low blow @ 15:10

Post-match, another full blown brawl erupts between the Kings of Old School and the Southern Boys.  It takes MVW security a few minutes to sort everything out.

MATCH #10/NON-TITLE MATCH: Women’s Champion Lisa Barbosa-Stevens defeated ‘Texas Cowgirl’ Haley Dallas with the Toxic Sting @ 10:40
-The veteran Haley Dallas pulled out every trick in the book but right now, Lisa Barbosa-Stevens is the best women’s wrestler in MVW for a very good reason.

A video montage played showing the run up to tonight’s Women’s Tag Team Title Match.

MAIN EVENT/WOMEN’S TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The Missouri Valley Fight Club (Harley Davisson/Carrieanne McDermott) defeated Angels of Death (Angel Scott/Angel Casey) © via DQ when newcomers The People’s Front of Berea (KY) (Kellyanne Morris/Bailey Foster) showed up out of the blue and attacked the challengers.
-Angels of Death retained the title.

Post-match, The Hanson Sisters attack the champions in retaliation for what happened earlier after Match #5 and that’s how the show ended.
