Tessa Martin Wins Heartland Title: 3/13-Missouri Valley Wrestling Weekend House Show Report

Coming Out of Last Weekend:
-Lisa Barbosa-Stevens drew first blood against the Sports Entertainment Corporation’s Christa Carmondy in a bid to become the new #1 contender for the MVW Title. After the match though, the SEC attacked Barbosa-Stevens as ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin, Prisoner #034291, and Angels of Death blindsided her from behind. Tess dropped her with a Pizza Cutter. Prisoner #034291 plowed her into the mat with a two handed choke slam. Then the AoD hit A.D.D. (Angel Death Drop) to finish her off.

-‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin explained why she turned on her former best friend Dawn McGill the week before and joined up with her long hated enemy ‘Sports Entertainment Genius’ Mr. McMann. Martin said her assault on McGill was long overdue over an incident that happened in 2009 while both women were in Dream Wrestling Federation and that the fans will never see Dawn back in MVW after she destroyed McGill on her appreciation night.

-After MVW Champion Angels of Death (Angel Casey and Angel Scott) held off the Missouri Valley Fight Club (Harley Davisson and Carrieanne McDermott) last weekend, MVW Executive Director Jill Berg came out and made the announcement that the AoD would face the MVFC at Arch Wrestling Madness in three weeks for the tag team belts.

-‘Queen of the Trailer Park’ Lani Harlot resumed her blood feud with Eva Perrin and defeated the ‘Argenta Rose’ in their first meeting.

-Rita and Anita O’Neder picked up a second win over the Korver Sisters in another scappy back and forth contest.

-Heartland Champion Kari Ferguson successfully defended her title with a win over Anna Conda

-And last week marked the return of several MVW veterans: Dr. Annabel ‘From Hannibal’ Lecker, Young Guns Bethany Stewart and Adrienne Banks, Young Guns’ Manager “Disco Loving, Jet Setting International Playboy from the East” Sheik Yorbouti, Perrin on her husband Colonel John Perrin, C.J. Lewis, and Major Svetlana Kovaleski.

Bethany Stewart and Adrienne Banks w/“Disco Loving, Jet Setting International Playboy from the East” Sheik Yorbouti (Young Guns) defeat Gwen and Blake Varney @ 7:15
-Kicking off the show, Stewart and Banks pick up a nice win over the Varney sisters. Stewart hit a nice moonsault on Gwen for a near fall. She then hit a second moonsault and submitted Gwen with dragon sleeper in the center ring.

Post-match, Sheik Yorbouti, Stewart, and Banks danced for the crowd to the KC and the Sunshine Band classic “I’m Your Boogie Man.”

Yosemite Samantha defeated Andrea Allen w/“Disco Loving, Jet Setting International Playboy from the East” Sheik Yorbouti (Young Guns) @ 8:22
-“The roughest, toughest, rootinest, shootinest she-man hombre’ who ever crossed the Rio Grande” picked up her second win as in many weeks. Referee Ron Martin had his hands full with the combustible Samantha who tossed Allen over the top rope. Martin stopped her from grabbing a steel chair which gave Allen a few extra seconds to gather herself. YS then hit a slingshot corkscrew body splash on Allen and rolled her up for the win.

SEC Makeover of Tessa Martin, Angel Casey, and Angel Scott
-The Sports Entertainment Corporation came out before the next match to unveil the official ‘sports entertainment makeover’ of ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin and MVW Tag Team champions Angels of Death (Angel Casey and Angel Scott).

(From left to right) Angel Casey, Tessa Martin, and Angel Scott

‘Sports Entertainment Genius’ Mr. McMann patted himself on the back for turning ‘raw talent with potential (ie…Tess and AoD) and polishing them in his own image to become true sports entertainment stars.’

McMann bragged that Tess’s recent photoshoot will turn her into the sports entertainment star she was always destined to be now that she’s seen the light and joined the SEC.

Next, McMann demanded a rematch for Christa Carmondy after ‘poor refereeing’ cost her the match against Lisa Barbosa-Stevens last week in Evansville. McMann claimed that Barbosa-Stevens ‘tapped out’ when Christa had her locked up in the Mean Girl Crush (inverted surfboard) and the referee didn’t see her.

Dr. Annabel ‘From Hannibal’ Lecker defeated Prisoner #034291 (Sports Entertainment Corporation) via DQ @ 3:08
-Two of Missouri Valley Wrestling’s behemoths squared off in a brief rock em sock em back and forth battle. Dr. Lecker had the momentum in her favor when at the three minute mark, the SEC (Christa Carmondy, ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin, and Tag Team Champions Angel Casey and Angel Scott) invaded the ring and attacked her.

This brought out another MVW returnee Major Svetlana Kovaleski who waded in and tossed Carmondy out of the ring before she fell victim to the SEC’s superior numbers. Then…

The crowd erupted when the ‘Six Foot Demolition Machine’- in full battle gear and wielding a Singapore cane- ran down to the ring. *WHACK* Down went Christa. *WHACK* *WHACK* *WHACK* Down went Prisoner #034291. Kovaleski heaved Angel Casey over the top rope. Dr. Lecker F-5’d Angel Scott and rolled her out of the ring. Then the face to face staredown ensued between McGill and Tessa Martin. McGill charged forward and missed on the Singapore caneshot and the ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ smartly slid out under the bottom rope to safety.

McGill formally introduced Kovaleski and Dr. Lecker, both married with children but working for MVW for a little extra spending cash, as MVW’s latest tag team- Housewives of Chaos.

‘Queen of the Trailer Park’ Lani Harlot defeated “High Flying Intercontinental Flight Attendant” Amie Velasco via DQ @ 7:51
-If Harlot thought her win over the ‘Argenta Rose’ Eva Perrin settled matters between them once and for all, she was wrong. Harlot used her strength to keep Velasco from using her aerial prowess.   The Queen of the Trailer Park had her in the White Trash Compactor but Perrin’s husband Colonel John Perrin pulled referee Ron Martin out of the ring. Martin immediately called for the bell.

Eva rushed the ring and hit a basement dropkick to Harlot’s back- breaking the hold on Velasco. Then Perrin locked Harlot up in the Perrin Tap Out and refused to let go. Finally, MVW officials came down to the ring to separate Perrin from Harlot.

Kathryn Randall Collins defeated ‘Queen Cool’ Leah Iris (Main Street USA) @ 15:02
-Early on, KRC goes outside and targets Leah’s arm with a little help from the post. Iris fought back during the middle and then led up to the end. Iris rained down right hands. She hit a suplex into the buckles but KRC grabbed the ropes. Iris up top, KRC back up and tossed her off the top rope. KRC then pounced on the opportunity and locked in the gogoplata for the win.

Mr. McMann Talks About Dawn McGill
-The SEC come to the ring to address what happened earlier. A visibly irritated ‘Sports Entertainment Genius’ Mr. McMann told the crowd that ‘Dawn McGill just doesn’t know when to go away.’ McMann recounted all the times that Dawn was in, then out of MVW over the past year.

Mr. McMann: “After what Tessa Martin did to her last week, you’d think she’d get the hint. The Dawn McGill era in Missouri Valley Wrestling is over. MVW has been assimilated to my vision of sports entertainment.”

That brought MVW Executive Director Jill Berg out to rebut Mr. McMann’s assertion.

Jill Berg: “Assimilated, my ass.”

Berg reminded McMann that the SEC is merely one of several factions who are competing in Missouri Valley Wrestling and will not receive ‘special treatment.’

Jill Berg: “However, I did say that Christa Carmondy and Lisa Barbosa-Stevens would engage in a series of matches to determine the new #1 contender for the MVW title.   Last week was just the first match. Therefore, they will meet again tomorrow night in Peoria.”

Berg then revealed two more matches involving the SEC for the Peoria show: -MVW Tag Team Champions Angels of Death (SEC) will face Housewives of Chaos w/Dawn McGill -Heartland Champion Kari Ferguson (Main Street USA) will put her title on the line against ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin (SEC)

On balance, Mr. McMann seemed pleased with the announcement and the SEC left the ring.

MAIN EVENT/NON-TITLE MATCH: MVW Champion ‘Canadian Cyborg’ Sheline Carrigan defeated Kelly Korver @ 8:25
-Kelly’s technicial ability versus Carrigan’s sheer strength. With sister Korey cheering her on, Kelly put in a good shift here.   Midway through, Kelly hit a frog splash for a 2 count and went for the Korver Krush but the champion powered back. Carrigan planted Korver with the Canadian Destroyer and rolled her up for the win.

Fan favorite Ninja Kitty began the show in the ring and told the Peoria crowd that she doesn’t do this very often. Ninja Kitty explained that all she does week in, week out, is come out to the ring and try to put on the best show possible for the fans.

Ninja Kitty: “I realize what my limitations are. I did have two title reigns as the Heartland champion. But after Kari won the belt, I haven’t been near the title since. I think I’m more than deserving for a title shot against Kari but yet Mr. McMann maneuvers Tessa Martin into the match tonight instead of me. That’s fine. That’s what Mr. McMann has done ever since he set foot in Missouri Valley Wrestling.”

Ninja Kitty called her opponent to the ring and said let’s tear this house down.

Ninja Kitty defeated Kirsten Canfield (Main Street USA) @ 7:45

Ninja Kitty swings Kirsten Canfield

-Ninja Kitty’s ultra-quickness versus Canfield’s awkward offensive attacks. Highlights include a Ninja Kitty dive to the outside, Canfield firing off rights from every conceivable angle inside the ring. They battled up top and Canfield tossed NK to the mat. Kirsten then hit a cross body but Ninja Kitty rolled through into a small package for the win.

Post-match, the SEC hit the ring and ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin attacked Ninja Kitty with the pizza cutter. Canfield tried to come to NK’s aid but Tess hit a pizza cutter on her as well.

Prisoner #034291 then put Ninja Kitty in a painful looking Camel Clutch as Tess stood over her and taunted Ninja Kitty with ‘it’s my turn’ over and over. She then potatoed Ninja Kitty with her oversized pizza box of doom and left her in a heap in the ring.

‘The Argenta Rose’ Eva Perrin with Colonel John Perrin defeated Bethany Stewart (Young Guns) via DQ @ :45
-‘Queen of the Trailer Park’ Lani Harlot hit the ring to get revenge on Perrin’s attack on her the night before in Quincy, Illinois. Harlot laid out Perrin with a steel chairshot causing the immediate disqualification of Stewart and then blasted Perrin’s husband Colonel John Perrin in the face. Harlot then slapped the White Trash Compactor on Eva and refused to break the hold. Like the night before, MVW officials had to come to the ring to separate the two.

Another feud that seems to be heading towards Arch Wrestling Madness.

The O’Neders (Rita and Anita) defeat The Korver Sisters (Kelly and Korey) @ 21:40
-For the second consecutive week, the O’Neders and Korvers put on a wrestling clinic for Missouri Valley Wrestling fans. The match kicked off with all four women in the ring and then settled into a long stretch where Kelly Korver and Rita O’Neder killed each other in the ring and Korey Korver and Anita O’Neder killed each other outside the ring. Like the week before, the O’Neders got stronger the longer the match went on. By the time Korey tried to hit the Korver Krusher, she’d been worn out by the O’Neders doggedness and Rita countered into a roll up to steal the pinfall.

Main Street USA (‘Queen Cool’ Leah Iris/C.J. Lewis) defeat the Missouri Valley Fight Club (Harley Davisson/Carrieanne McDermott) @ 9:11

From Left to Right: Carrieanne McDermott, C.J. Lewis, Harley Davisson, Leah Iris

-This one went outside early where the conventional wisdom would be the MVFC had the advantage. But Leah tossed Davisson twice into the press table causing the writers to scatter. Later on in a second sequence outside the ring, Davisson would gain a measure of payback when she back body dropped Leah onto the steel ring steps but then C.J. Lewis snuck in a couple shots. Then McDermott brawls on the floor with Leah and Lewis doubleteamed her as well.

Davisson and McDermott roared back in the second part of the match but then MVW Tag Team Champions Angels of Death (Angel Casey and Angel Scott) came to the ring. Scott got into it with Davisson outside the ring and Casey distracted McDermott which allowed Lewis to hit the Last Round to give Iris and Lewis the win.

McDermott slid right out of the ring and tackled Casey.   This brought down Prisoner #034291 and Christa Carmondy to the ring. Prisoner #034291 took down McDermott with a two handed choke slam. Carmondy locked Davisson in the Mean Girl Crush. Then Iris and Lewis came to the MVFC’s aid. ‘Sports Entertainment Genius’ Mr. McMann came down to the ring with ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin and pulled back the troops.

Lisa Barbosa-Stevens defeated Christa Carmondy (Sports Entertainment Corporation) @ 12:19
-The SEC stayed at ringside for this one. In fact, Mr. McMann interjected himself early on by getting up on the apron and distracted Barbosa-Stevens allowing Christa an early advantage. Mindful of what happened last week when Barbosa-Stevens survived early pinfall attempts and rallied back at the end, the SEC continued to interfere throughout the match. Christa dominated early again and Barbosa-Stevens survived four early covers. Twice, Lisa tried to roll out to regroup. Twice, Mr. McMann and Prisoner #034291 literally threw her back in the ring. Barbosa-Stevens, again showing resilience, held the ropes to stop a Christa drop kick. Then Lisa countered an elbow drop into a schoolgirl roll up. She had Christa pinned but referee Davey Keels was too busy arguing with Mr. McMann. Barbosa-Stevens kept avoiding the Mean Girl Crush and went into a strike exchange with Christa. Carmondy missed a wild right hand and Barbosa-Stevens hit the Toxic Sting to make it two in a row.

Again, the SEC (Angels of Death: Angel Casey and Angel Scott, ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin, and Prisoner #034291) hit the ring and beat down Barbosa-Stevens while Christa simply sat in the ring and looked up at the lights.

Then Housewives of Chaos: Major Svetlana Kovaleski and Dr. Annabel ‘From Hannibal’ Lecker with Dawn McGill ran down to the ring. Kovaleski steamrolled Angel Scott. Lecker obliterated Angel Casey. And McGill beelined towards Tessa Martin with a Singapore cane.   Tess took off for the back so McGill turned and caned Prisoner #034291 three times.

Referee Keels stayed in the ring and immediately called for the bell to start the next match.

NON-TITLE MATCH: MVW Tag Team Champions Angels of Death: Angel Casey and Angel Scott w/the SEC (Sports Entertainment Corporation) defeat Housewives of Chaos: Major Svetlana Kovaleski and Dr. Annabel ‘From Hannibal’ Lecker w/Dawn McGill @ 14:00
-Early on, Casey simply got mugged as both Kovaleski and Dr. Lecker isolated her inside the ring and then demolished her outside the ring. Scott tried several times to get in the ring but referee Keels didn’t hesitate to send her back out. Finally, Scott got a short hot tag, but the she was tossed to the floor by Kovaleski, allowing Dr. Lecker and McGill to get in a couple gratuitous shots. High cross by Casey back in the ring to Dr. Lecker and then a high cross onto Kovaleski and McGill on the floor changed the momentum of the match. Scott suplexed both HoC and took Kovaleski and Dr. Lecker to the floor. Casey and Scott set up for the Angel Death Drop on the floor, but before the SEC could get the table, McGill made the save. But in the end, the HoC ran out of gas. Casey started flying around the ring. Scott started body slamming everything in sight. An exhausted Kovaleski took the A.D.D. and the pinfall for the tag team champions.

Post-match, Tessa Martin Pearl Harbored Dawn McGill and rained down right hands on her. Then…

…the surprise return of Dawn’s little sister Regina McGill. Regina tackled Tess and Mr. McMann physically had to step in and get the Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl away from her. Then Main Street USA: MVW Champion ‘Canadian Cyborg’ Sheline Carrigan, ‘Queen Cool’ Leah Iris, Kirsten Canfield, and C.J. Lewis joined in.

MVW Executive Director Jill Berg came out and ordered everyone to the back except Tess and Kari Ferguson. Each wrestler can have one person at ringside. Carrigan stayed to be in Ferguson’s corner; Christa Carmondy volunteered to be in Tessa’s.

MAIN EVENT/HEARTLAND TITLE MATCH: ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin (Sports Entertainment Corporation) defeated Kari Ferguson (Main Street USA) @ 11:36

Kari Ferguson in the ‘Tree of Woe’

-Even with the lack of SEC personnel at ringside, Tess still came out extremely aggressive. Lockup and both to the ropes, Tess brawled with Ferguson in the corner. Hammering Ferguson’s back. Tess slammed Ferguson head first into the corner. Fist to the head and Ferguson driven down to a seated position in the corner. Tess then choked Kari on the bottom rope. This brought Carrigan into the ring followed by Christa. Referee Ron Martin had to eject both women but it gave Tess an extra few seconds to squeeze the breath out of the Heartland champion. Kari finally rolled away and took a time out outside the ring. Tess then hit a 450 splash to the outside and drug Kari back into the ring. Tess covered several times- Kari kept somehow kicking out. Christa tripped up Kari as she was beginning to mount a little offense.

Tess teased the Pizza Cutter but Kari slipped out. She looked for a neckbreaker but Tess escaped and rolled into drop toehold.  Tess covered but Kari survived again. Tess cut off a springboard attempt by the Heartland champion and followed with a DDT. Tess set for the Pizza Cutter but Kari hit a jawbreaker to counter. Kari looked for the springboard, missed, and Tess finished her off with a Pizza Cutter to win the title.

Post-match, Angels of Death joined Tessa in the ring and the three new members (and titleholders) of the SEC celebrated after the match.
