Regina McGill vs. Lisa Barbosa-Stevens Added to MVWA 73- MVW House Show Results-Mankato, MN

The final show before Missouri Valley Wrestling’s MVWA 73 took place in Pittsburg, Kansas on a night that would turn out to be quite eventful- especially with the events that went down in Chicago, IL at High Octane Wrestling.

(High Octane Wrestling Friday Night Chaos: Ray McAvay vs. Scott Stevens)
.[..Someone hands McAvay a cup of beer. McAvay slams the plastic cup in Stevens’s face and sends beer all over the place. Someone else hands him a cookie sheet.

The cookie sheet is bent at a ninety degree angle after McAvay wraps it around Stevens’s head.

Benny Newell: Why isn’t Matt Boettcher counting them out? Why won’t he disqualify McAvay?

Joe Hoffman: I don’t know what’s happening down- WHO’S THAT?

A woman comes up to McAvay swinging another steel chair and nailing Tin Cup in the back of the neck.

Joe Hoffman: That’s Lisa Barbosa-Stevens! Scott Stevens’s wife!

McAvay drops to his knees and holds his already injured neck. Barbosa-Stevens tells one of the fans to get out of his seat and then throws McAvay head first onto the edge of his chair. McAvay’s busted open and he’s writhing on the floor.

Joe Hoffman: If anyone’s wife would get involved in the match, I thought it’d be Dawn McGill- not Scott Stevens’s wife!]

[…McAvay lies prone on the mat. Stevens scoots over and hooks the leg.

Joe Hoffman: That’s going to do it! Stevens with the cover.

The crowd suddenly roars.

Joe Hoffman: WAIT! Someone just pulled Referee Matt Boettcher out of the ring!

Stevens is furious. He stands up and turns to see Dawn McGill, flanked by fifty members of the Les Miserables, standing on the outside. McGill defiantly flips him off.

[…Lisa Barbosa-Stevens jumps up on the ring apron and runs through the ring.

Joe Hoffman: And now what’s Lisa Barbosa-Stevens doing in the ring?

Barbosa-Stevens leaps through the top and middle ropes and tackles McGill on the floor.

The two begin to roll around with wild punches being thrown by both.

Joe Hoffman: This is getting out of control. We’ve got another brawl outside the ring!

More EPU race out from the back to try to regain control. McGill and Barbosa-Stevens continue to roll around on the floor. Matt Boettcher tries to get in between the two and get them separated.]

The net result of the clash between MVW Executive Director Dawn McGill and Lisa Barbosa-Stevens last night in Chicago is that a third match has been added to Sunday night’s MVWA 73 show. Lisa Barbosa-Stevens will face Regina McGill in the opening match of the show. Barbosa-Stevens took out Regina with a Toxic Sting during a tag match against the MVW Tag Team Champions The Bayless Twins at a special Fourth of July show in Amarillo, Texas earlier this week.

Dawn McGill will be in her sister’s corner Sunday night. Will we see Scott Stevens in his wife’s corner as well?

In Pittsburg, both the Heartland (House show) and Television Titles were on the line along with a spot in the main event with the winner of an elimination match earning themselves a title shot against MVW Champion Sheline Carrigan.

The higlights from last night’s show:

HEARTLAND TITLE MATCH: Main Street USA’s Kari Ferguson © vs. April O’Neal with the Beer Bellied Softball Playing Ninja

Who are the Beer Bellied Softball Playing Ninja? Um…four guys dressed up in authentic softball jerseys with beer bellies wearing ninja masks?

Back and forth to begin, Ferguson hits a springboard dropkick and that sends the red-haired O’Neal down to the floor. Ferguson follows but makes the mistake of getting too close to one of the Beer Bellied Softball Playing Ninja who’s enjoying a pitcher of beer. The Ninja lets out a loud and thunderous belch that knocks Ferguson back and then O’Neal flings her into the barricade. Then O’Neal goes moonsault from the barricade and crushes the Heartland champion on the floor.

Both work their way back to the ring, O’Neal tries to whip Ferguson into the ropes but Kari reverses and sends O’Neal for the ride. Lou Thesz press by Ferguson and the first cover of the match…1…2…O’Neal gets the shoulder up. Ferguson maintains control and works O’Neal’s arm. She hits a leg drop and covers again…1…2…kick out by O’Neal. Ferguson slows down the action with a chinlock. But referee Ron Martin gets embroiled in an argument with one of the Beer Bellied Softball Playing Ninja at ringside which allows another ninja to heave a softball at Ferguson and doinks her in the head. Ferguson staggers to her feet and gets decked by an O’Neal lariat. Rapid fire rights by April followed, and Ferguson bails to the floor. O’Neal follows but Ferguson’s Main Street USA teammates (‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin, ‘Queen Cool’ Leah Iris, and Regina McGill) run down attacks The Beer Bellied Softball Ninja on the floor.

Back in, O’Neal goes up top and hit a high crossbody on Ferguson. She hooks the legs…1…2…Ferguson rolls out. O’Neal then follows with an enziguri and another cover…1…2…kick out by Ferguson. The momentum firmly on her side, O’Neal snaps off the tornado DDT but Ferguson is close to the ropes and manages to roll to the floor once again. O’Neal goes for the big over the top dive and misses when ‘Queen Cool’ Leah Iris pulls Ferguson out of the way at the last second. Back in the ring, Ferguson drives forearms into O’Neal’s back and sends her to the mat. She locks in the Crossface Chickenwing. O’Neal’s Beer Bellied Softball Playing Ninja are blocked from interfering by Main Street USA and O’Neal is forced to tap out.

TELEVISION TITLE MATCH: Prisoner #034291 © with the Sports Entertainment Consortium (Brandi and Wendi Bayless/Daisy Cutter-Bomb w/SEC Leader Phil Feinbaum) vs. ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin w/Main Street USA (Kari Ferguson/“Queen Cool” Leah Iris/Regina McGill)

As soon as the bell rings, Tess shoots for the legs, gets one. But Prisoner #034291 backs up against the ropes and forces referee Davey Keels to break the hold. Tess goes for the leg again. Prisoner #034291 evades and locks her up from behind. Belly to back suplex follows and the TV champion covers…1…2…Tess gets the shoulder up. Test of strength. Not a good idea by Tess who gets driven to her knees and gets nailed by a kick to the midsection by Prisoner #034291. Go behind by the TV Champion.  A second belly to back suplex but this time, Prisoner #034291 does not release and presses Tess’s shoulder down for the cover…1…Tess uses her legs to flips over. Prisoner #034291 then reaches down and power bombs Tess. Cover…1…2…3-NO! Tess somehow kicks out. Prisoner #034291 covers one more time…1…2…Tess grabs the ropes and Keels breaks the count.

Prisoner #034291 is super frustrated, and rolls to the outside to confer with Phil Feinbaum and the rest of the SEC.  Back in the ring, a second test of strength takes place but this time, Tess nails Prisoner #034291 with a series of kicks and a missile drop kick sends the TV champ to the mat. Tess tries to take advantage and lays the boots to her. Feinbaum on the ring apron to complain. Tess turns and nails him with a right hands sending Feinbaum flying off the apron. Unfortunately, the distraction allows Prisoner #034291 to recover and drop Tess with a body slam in the center of the ring. Tess back up and hits the ropes but eats a big boot! Prisoner #034291 goes for a Superkick, but it’s Tess’s turn to roll to the outside. Prisoner #034291 follows and runs into Main Street USA. The SEC quickly queue up behind the television champion and referee Davey Keels has to jump down and separate the two sides.

Back to the ring. Prisoner #034291 decks Tess with a right hand and covers 1…2…NO! Enraged, Prisoner #034291 drags Tess to her feet and sets her up for a two handed choke slam. Tess kicks her way free and runs the ropes. She slides between Prisoner #034291 legs and clips her knees on the back side. Tess for a bulldog, Prisoner #034291 uses her strength to throw her aside. Tess goes for the Pizza Cutter. Again Prisoner #034291 slips out, spins Tess around, wraps her hands around her throat, hits the two handed choke slam. Cover…1…2…3.
