MVW House Show- Kansas City, MO

MVW House Show
Kansas City, MO
Saturday October 24th, 2015

The night before in Joplin, four preliminary matches whittled down sixteen contestants to four in the race to be the next number one contender and MVW Champion Lady Halitosis’ opponent at MVWA 66. Jill Berg, Kathryn Randall Collins, Kari Ferguson, and Carrieanne McDermott each won their respective four way matches to advance on to the semi-finals to be held in Kansas City.

In the race to become the new tag team title #1 contender, two semi-final matches were held that saw the Missouri Valley Fight Club (Harley Davisson/Carrieanne McDermott) and The Kentucky Deerhunters (Kellyanne Morris/Bailey Foster) defeat their respective opponents in Joplin to set up a Saturday night showdown in Kansas City- the winner to go on to MVWA 66 to face the tag team champions ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin and ‘Texas Cowgirl’ Haley Dallas.

So when you add Heartland Title and Television Title matches to the card, the stakes were definitely high as a near capacity crowd piled into the Hale Arena in for Missouri Valley Wrestling’s visit to Kansas City.

Match results:

Elaine Brazier/Andrea Allen defeat Pancha Frieto/Gwen Varney @ 6:22
-Brazier and Allen score their initial MVW victory with a win over Varney and Frieto- a local product getting a look-see by Dawn McGill.

MVW TITLE #1 CONTENDER-SEMI FINAL MATCH 1: Jill Berg defeated Kari Ferguson via DQ @ 7:35
-going into the night, people thought this one was going to be contentious and it did not disappoint. Berg was accompanied to the ring by the colleagues of Jill Berg Enterprises (Daisy Cutter-Bomb, Kirsten Canfield, Hallie Burton, Regina McGill, Svetlana Kovaleski); Ferguson had ‘Sports Entertainment Genius’ Mr. McMann and the rest of the Sports Entertainment Consortium (Lingerie Girls Brandi and Wendi Bayless, Bo Stevens and Timothy Allen Tebow…no, not THAT one). Referee Davey Keels had his hands full keeping JBE and the SEC forces apart throughout the match.

Berg surgically picked the young and inexperienced Ferguson apart with her array of kicks and martial arts moves. Ferguson couldn’t get anything going. Mr. McMann became more and more frustrated as the match wore on and as it became apparent that Berg was going to move on finally ordered the SEC into the ring. The second Stevens and Tebow stepped into the ring, Keels called for the bell and the fun began. Daisy Cutter-Bomb waited until Keels disqualified Ferguson before committing the Jill Berg Enterprises group into the fray. Once the battle was joined, MVW sent security down to separate the two sides. What no one counted on was MVW Television Champion Sheline Carrigan (presumably still a member of Jill Berg Enterprises) coming to the ring.

Carrigan rolled into the ring and started cutting down everyone in sight…and when we say everyone we mean everyone. The Canadian Cyborg indiscriminately cut through both JBE and SEC wrestlers before coming up to Berg. By the time Jill realized she was in danger, Carrigan hacked her down with a lariat and then hit a Canadian Destroyer on the former MVW champion. Not satisfied with one, Carrigan pulled Berg back up off the mat and nailed her with a second Canadian Destroyer.   Mr. McMann hopped into the ring clapping his hands…which ended up being a mistake when Carrigan booted him in the stomach and dropped him with a third Canadian Destroyer. Then she left the ring and headed to the back.

MVW TITLE #1 CONTENDER-SEMI FINAL MATCH 2: Kathryn Randall Collins defeated Carrieanne McDermott @ 11:19
-after the ring was cleared and the wounded carted off to the back, it was time for the second semi-final match. Unlike the first semifinal, this encounter was relatively clean. KRC and Carrieanne were no strangers to each other, having met in singles action in Missouri Valley Wrestling’s original run. McDermott, doing double and possibly triple duty tonight as she would wrestle later on in the Tag Team Title #1 Contender’s match, forced the action to KRC early on. Collins played a game of counterattack with McDermott, looking for the opening and trying to set her up for the Gogoplata. In the end, KRC finally overcame McDermott and slapped on the submission finisher to advance to the finals against Jill Berg.

Of course, the question was would Jill Berg be able to go later on in the show after taking two Canadian Destroyers from Sheline Carrigan?

HEARTLAND TITLE MATCH: Ninja Kitty © defeated Hannah Lancer @ 7:51
-Ninja Kitty used her superior speed and agility to drive Lancer crazy. The Heartland Champion hit the Pounce in the eighth minute of the match and made the pinfall to retain the title.

Intermission:
MVW Backstage Interviewer Paige McGillicutty appeared on the video screen and reported that Jill Berg was injured by Sheline Carrigan but she would wrestle in the MVW Title #1 Contender’s Match later on in the show.

TELEVISION TITLE MATCH: ‘Queen Cool’ Leah Iris defeated ‘Canadian Cyborg’ Sheline Carrigan © @ 15:41
-following Carrigan’s demolition of JBE and the SEC, the TV Champion returned to the ring to put her Television Title on the line against ‘Queen Cool’ Leah Iris. It became apparent as the match wore on that Carrigan’s mind was elsewhere as she began to make a series of mental errors that threw the momentum of the match to Iris- who for once benefitted from a little good fortune. Carrigan tried to go for the Canadian Destroyer but Iris reversed and hit a neckbreaker. Then she finished Carrigan with the Pittsburgh Plunge and became the brand new MVW Television Champion.

Post match, Carrigan left the ring without any further incident and reportedly left the building shortly thereafter.

MVW TAG TEAM #1 CONTENDER’S MATCH: The Kentucky Deerhunters (Kellyanne Morris/Bailey Foster) defeated The Missouri Valley Fight Club (Harley Davisson/Carrieanne McDermott) @ 18:13
-the Deerhunters and the MVFC left it all inside…and outside too for that matter…in the ring in an intense encounter full of near falls and several near count-outs. Morris and Foster did not shy away from engaging in what tantamounted to a flat out bare knuckle brawl where no quarter was asked nor given. Morris caught Davisson in the Bear Trap in the fourteenth minute and Foster somehow kept McDermott from coming to her rescue to send the Deerhunters on to MVWA 66 and a date with the MVW Tag Team Champions.

MAIN EVENT/MVW #1 CONTENDER’S MATCH: Kathryn Randall Collins defeated Jill Berg @ 5:53
-Berg, clearly weakened from Sheline Carrigan’s earlier assault, tried hard and nearly caught KRC early on with a Spinning Heel Kick. Unfortunately for her, she whiffed and spend the rest of the match fending off KRC’s relentless pursuit of her. Finally, Berg found herself stuck in the Gogoplata and had to tap out, giving KRC a shot at Lady Halitosis and the MVW Title next Saturday at MVWA 66.

Post match, Berg stunned everyone in the crowd, and KRC herself, by shaking her hand before leaving the ring.

Dawn McGill then came to the ring to announce the card for MVWA 66.
